the ballot I just filled out may have contained the worst slate of candidates and ballot measures in the history of this state. democrats that just linger around and do nothing, republican wack jobs with no experience other than running various business into the ground, terribly written ballot measures that are seemingly completely unnecessary.

GOOD TIMES! AMERICA FUCK YEAH!

Yeah, at least half of the ballot initiatives here were written by a PR firm for whatever industry was in on it.

In TN, we had the Don't Let Pelosi Take Away Arr Right To Huntin, Fishin and Killin Shit With Firearms PAC write this pointless amendment to the TN Constitution:

Quote:
Constitutional Amendment
Shall Article XI, Section 13 of the Constitution of the State of Tennessee be amended by adding the following
sentences at the end of the section:
The citizens of this state shall have the personal right to hunt and fish, subject to reasonable regulations and restrictions prescribed by law. The recognition of this right does not abrogate any private or public property rights, nor does it limit the state’s power to regulate commercial activity. Traditional manners and means may be used to take non-threatened species.

We also had the worst "Democrat" candidate for governor (I'm half convinced that he entered the race just to run up the votes for the shoo-in GOP candidate Bill Haslam). I almost voted for the Green party candidate and then just punched the electronic ballot screen. McWherter, the Dem, already conceded after Haslam has 70% of the vote an hour after polls have closed. Tons of landslide wins for GOP in TN, especially in the State House, which is already filled with loons and mongoloids.

Where is Hunter Thompson when we need him? Man, I'm pretty sure his soul committed suicide over the shape we're in.

I definitely don't follow politics as much as some of the posters in this thread, so I was pretty shocked that Russ Feingold was defeated in Wisconsin. Was that predicted??

I bet if you had worked for Jon Adler Loogs he'd have made up the 6k votes he lost by and then some.

The only thing this transition means is that the federal government will continue to sludge along and achieve nothing. If there's one thing a Dem majority proved, it is that it doesn't matter in the least who is in government. Nothing changes. Shocking.

Facepalm! Wisconsin elects Real World: Boston castee Sean Duffy in 7th District (that's Northwoods; Ashland, Wausau, Stevens Point... Rhinelander (real Hodags, there)). Fucking FAIL.

I'm not one to say, "OHG, IMG MOVGING TOG CANGADAG IF THAGT ONEG WINGS", but, really, I don't want to live in a state where MTV reality performers can win a Congressional seat.

Well, here's hoping Nathan Deal does something good for education in Georgia.

And doesn't rob us all blind in the process.

It surprises me developments get off the ground with all the preceding state and local costs to break ground, and that's Florida. I could not begin to imagine a state like Massachusetts, Oregon, Cali or similar.

I expect Casey Cagle will be governor and Mr. Deal will be punching license plates before too long.

Damn old white people and their habit of actually voting in all elections, even if they are not the glamorous ones.

Yeah, the recent polls had it going this way.

We're in for a complete clusterfuck the next 2 years.

Yeah, if there's one group of people that have had it rough over the last 30 years it's real estate developers.

Tea Party's going to have difficulty staying together with boardroom Repubs as "more deregulation for Wall St and real estate developers" isn't exactly what all the anger was about. It's going to be an interesting two years. BO will challenged in the primaries 2012 - wonder who will step up, probably Kucinich or simiilar. BO is re-elected w/52% - although not sure that's the best thing for progressive ideals.

Speaking of progressive ideals... it's nice to be on the Left Coast. In CA the whole statewide slate was elected Dem - Brown by 12%, Boxer by 10% - this is more than usual elections, in a sense there was a Dem wave in CA. Bennet winning in CO was huge. Reid beating back the loony Angle. Old white people voting disproportionately in mid-terms? Latinos voted in strong numbers and were foundational to the Blue West resistance to the national trend. Sen. Rubio come on with your bad self.

California is nice to see since they do often point to what is to come in much of the rest of the nation and if the rest of the country's demographics eventually mirror California the Republicans will either need to change into something unrecognizable from their current form or they will just be rendered obsolete.

But yeah, old people voting made a huge difference in this election

It's in a song by The Dipset - "I'm goin Kobe tonight, I got on 5 rings!"

Oh, and we won a campaign for a lady that was thrown out of the Republican Party, qualified as an Independent, and got indicted...and Congressman Banana Answerer is now FORMER Congressman Banana Answerer. Can't hide my Cheshire Cat Grin.
