Doesn't it, though?? It's not strictly '77/'78 recordings, not without some current updating, so I'm going to count it as eligible.

Dern. I never even snagged it. And I'm a Walkmen fan.

I haven't put a lot of thought into it yet but these are probably mine:

1. Arcade Fire - Suburbs
2. The Love Language - Libraries
3. Male Bonding - Nothing Hurts

Could easily be there after a few more listens:
Titus Andronicus - The Monitor
Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz
The Walkmen - Lisbon
The Black Keys - Brothers

Really? When I saw that movie, my reaction to the soundtrack was "How has Trent Reznor not had an original idea since 1989?"

Wow, lots of love for the Bare Jr. album. Is it significantly better than his other stuff? I've always found him to be hit or miss.

I've never been a huge NIИ but I always appreciated what they did. I actually expected something a little different so maybe that skewed my view of the score, but I think if that was a direction he wanted to go towards, he could be very good at it. Atticus Ross who worked on it with him also did a great score for Book of Eli, which I think won some awards in the field. This isn't going to be in my top 25, but it has a certain appeal at moments.

This is another I haven't heard yet. All the praise kind of put me off it.

Even being the big Les Savy Fav fan that I am, I think that album is pretty weak.

I really haven't listened to much, but I still love that Beach House album. I also like the Crocodiles album. Haven't seen that mentioned, I don't think.
