I remember the people here who were mad as fuck that we took Ryan instead of taking Glen Dorsey in the 1st and then (presumably) Henne in the 2nd. Most of them were racists and/or Vickophants but it was something of an issue.

And I don't think Ryan is or ever will be All World but yeah, he good.

As for Brees, we traded up with San Diego in 2001 to take Vick then took Alge Crumpler in the second...San Diego took LTD with our pick and then Brees in the second. Right around the time when Vick was going to PMIA Federal Prison and Crumpler was fat and moving on I thought about that draft a lot.

I don't know man, the jury is certainly still out with regards to greatness. He's only in year 3. It took Brees, what, 4 years to get to the Pro Bowl (an imperfect measure for sure) and 6 (?) to get his first playoff win?

Oh dude, don't get it twisted. I'd root for a limp armed Osama bin Hitler if he is going to deliver the Lombardi Trophy. (For chrissakes, we've already been forced to root for Jeff George, Chris Chandler, Doug Johnson and a guy who went to prison for fighting dogs, we're due). Ryan is totally fine and we could do a lot worse. Look around the league.

As for tonight, I think the Ravens are a better team, but the Falcons are great at home (Ryan is 16-1 @ Teh Dome) so uh, we'll see. I guess.

There is no way you pass on Jake Long (in that situation or now in hindsight). He is becoming a premier left tackle in the league. Matt Ryan is good but you must solidify your offensive line first. Drew Brees on the other hand...we really screwed the pooch on that one.
