Toots, I need your mailing address. I am framing that and sending it to you and Shera

It just speaks to me, man.

Also - next time, try the Hoggly Woggly.

I sometimes mix a raw egg into the meat when making the patties, but never tried a fried egg as condiment. Looks tasty.

We had a death wish, Sheralee and I. Cutting through the night in our stolen Jag like freshly cooked junk, warm and dirty with the grit and must of a thousand ten-dollar motel rooms, speeding through ragged veins of asphalt and tar, heads caving with desert visions fueled by slow carbon monoxide poisoning and bottom shelf bourbon. The back seat was an apocalypse of corroded dime-store romance novels and skin rags spilling to the floor every time we took a hard turn, which was every time. The tires stank with burning rubber as we parted a sea of dry dust in the parking lot of the Chief. Under the 2am neon, all was dead and sallow.

The jukebox in the diner croaked a warbled song of drunken rage and sat fat and dejected next to a half-loaded cigarette machine that had long passed its salad days. The two were like a defeated married couple, together only because they had forgotten how to live apart. We staggered to the bar and ordered up our suicide.

It was a grotesque pile of steaming death, swimming in a barbecue sauce perfected in a Laredo basement by a glaucomic Mexican outlaw. It stung and smoked going down, and buried itself in the grease and yolk from the egg that burst like a prize-winning boil on first bite. We washed it down with the irony of cheap champagne, a roadhouse pisswater they called beer.

Fuck knows how long we stayed at this nicotine-shrouded outpost out on the perimeter where the highway ends. We went back to the room and when our eyes finally slammed shut, a bloated and hot sun was creeping over the horizon like a shark made of marbled ham, pink and ferocious, while the last shreds of hot young tobacco and zig zag went up in a lazy vapor trail between our fingers.

really enjoyed your outlaw commentary, wanted it to keep going

for tonight

Image

gruyere, beef, carmelized onions, bacon, onion rings, garlic mayo, toasted onion roll

this one's not too over the top, but we are getting a little tired of the onion rings. and it didn't really occur to me until i typed the ingredient list out just now that onions seem to be a major theme in this one. expecting some stank breff...

I made cheeseburgers last night, but just your traditional cheeseburgers with lettuce tomato, nothing fancy and nothing I felt would be worth taking a picture of for a thread so filled with deliciousness. However...damn I'd not made burgers in quite a long time. Tasty. I think I could do one of those once a week.

The onions AND onion rings seem a bit like overkill, eh?

i'm so tired of onion rings on a burger, i'd rather puke on it and then eat it. this is the 3rd or 4th one with them, and 2nd in a row! gawd! a plain jane burger sounds soooo good!

I've never actually even tried onion rings on a burger, mostly because I've always thought that looks kinda gross. But damn, all this talk is making me want an order of onion rings from the bar down the street. Breaded not battered for the onion rings, thank you very much.
