I heard the Ghost album a couple of times now and must say that's all kinds of awesome. rumours are that it's one or two guys from Watain, which would make it even cooler. pretty interesting that there's only 3 shows announced for next year some time in april and only one headliner show in london. I'd love to see them live in a small venue.

How do the metal obnerati feel about Decibel magazine? Every time I'm in a Borders or Barnes & Noble, I find myself reading it and really enjoying it. I had pretty much given up on print music media, but I'm thinking maybe it would be worth a subscription.

I've had a subscription to Decibel for 4 years now. The best American Metal read, but wish they would fuck off covering the mall metal bands for chissakes.

finally got around to the Deathspell Omega album. pretty impressed. some of the blasting gets a bit tedious, but their riffing is just otherworldly, and i love the production on this album.

yeah, they're silly as all hell, but with the music, they capture what i still dig about many early-mid 80's Metal bands. it was all about atmosphere, not just about being 'heavy as fuck duuuude'.
