What a fucking disaster.

The day before the game....really? A total joke. Maybe they could've made the field 50yds and only require 5 yds for a 1st down....and only 2 downs. What else?

How about the Hokies? Left for dead after the James Madison loss to going back to the ACC Championship game. If I'm one of their fans I'd be pulling my hair out over that loss still.

Also, what's the story on Maryland's endzone patterns?

This game is shaping up for a great finish.

Proof that sometimes you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet, although winning the ACC, sheesh.

Too bad for Maryland. This has been a rough weekend for the Terps, with this loss to FSU and being edged out by Pitt and Illinois in the tourney in bball. Would've been cool to see them in the ACC championship game and then go to possibly the Orange Bowl.

I know a lot of you (if any) follow DII ball, but my alma mater of Shepherd University won the first game in the eastern conference playoffs. Pretty pumped to see them playing like this and possibly get down to Mississippi for the Nattie.

I bet Fridge ate one of the athletic trainers to make himself feel better after that loss. And a 5lb tub of butter.

Hopefully Maryland will be too down to give State much of a fight next weekend, thus allowing them to play Va. Tech in the ACC Championship game here in Charlotte. I'd love to have a rematch of that game from October, where State went up 17-0 in the first quarter, only to be outscored 41-13 the rest of the game (though we did have the lead with under 3 minutes in the game before giving up two late TDs off turnovers). Should be able to pressure the young QB and hopefully our offense will get out of its funk a little bit.

Yeah, its like 2 hours from here so I waffling on whether to head up or not. Ktown has an incredibly tough team this year. Its gonna be tough for Shepherd to win.

I'll be pulling for you guys. Mostly because FemDerris' bro-in-law is a die hard FSU guy (and not so silent UGA hater). I'd love to see them get smoked by Florida and miss going to Charlotte with a State win. Normally, I don't root against FSU much but since UGA sucks this year, I can't allow him to have happiness.

Also, I'd love to remind him of his comments back in October when they were 6-1 (only loss to then #1 Oklahoma) and him telling me that they were "back" and that Jimbo Fisher was "the next Nick Saban".

I'm pretty familiar with both. Fisher is nothing like Saban. Complete different personalities. Only similarities are they worked together.

Also, fem-derris's bro-in-law will come to hate that FSU offense over time.

Minus Wisconsin raping Ohio State,

The Boise St. v. Nevada is my game of the year.

I only wish Ore-gone would have shit the bed 'cause that game was looking like an upset as well

On Wisconsin.

That was brutal. In some ways it may end up being a good thing for me because the possibility of a Wisconsin vs. BSU Rose Bowl is out the window.

I have a feeling it's going to be one of those weekends...i hope the Badgers and Packers show up.

I'm in shock to have a football team (Michigan State) that kept its shit together for nearly the whole year, finished with one loss and a share of the Big Ten title, our first since 1990. Good golly.

Still a lot of football to play, but Maryland is holding its own vs. NC St.

Freshman QB Danny O'Brien is holding his own. 286 yards/2 TDs 338/3 TDs

it would be extremely sweet for Oregon State to upset the Ducks next weekend in Civil War. don't see it happening at all, but still. lots of Ducks fans around here would jump off a bridge.

I went to the worst played and possibly most boring game I've ever watched that was decided by a TD between two rivals.

It was freezing by Southern Standards, and the TV timeouts made sure that there was ZERO flow to the game.

UGA gutted one out after blowing TWO fourteen point leads..including one in the 4th Q.

I did get to experience Mr. Derris' Party Machine for the first time this year -- that guy is still going strong. A fucking MONSTER.

WE MADE IT - TOP OF THE WEEDEATER, MA!

Jeff Schultz of the AJC perfectly summed up last night's Georgia-Georgia Tech game:

Quote:
It wasn’t difficult to tell this was a game between 5-6 and 6-5 teams.

Still, fuck Tech. Mark Richt is now 9-1 against the North Avenue Nerds.

Walked around the field after the game in Madison yesterday, awesome scene.

Badgers offense has been ridiculous this year. They put up 70 points through three quarters and basically sat on the ball for the 4th quarter.

Rose Bowl baby.

What's to loathe about them? I haven't really been keeping track for most of the season, but it seems like they're a pretty consistent come-from-behind team that makes some big, exciting, plays and is pretty fun to watch.

Pretty poor defense aside from Fairley, but I've always thought that the low-scoring defensive battles that the SEC has typically been known for are pretty boring.

Or is it just that old Auburn-UGA rivalry that no one on the Auburn side seems to really care about?

Oh yeah I guess it's all there on the previous page of this thread.

I still kind of resent the "Scam Newton" stuff, but we'll see. Dude is a great player, and the whole thing is a real shame, true or not.

O'Brien did more than hold his own, and Torrey Smith pretty much beat State by himself. You would think the staff would have thought to double cover him, but hey, what do I know about coaching. Between that, the 3 dropped TD passes, and the BS spot at the end, I was pretty livid. The ref Ron Cherry may be an idiot, but State has no one but themselves to blame for that loss.

Fucking Maryland always seems to be the nemesis of any decent NC State team in the past 10 years.
