The LSF is good, but it didn't sink in like the last few...they're more of a live act anyways.

For what it's worth stylistically the new Pernice Brothers is a little different, but the songwriting is intact. Same goes for Teenage Fanclub.

....and that Spoon record is great.

Marah has grown on me a lot. "Within The Spirit Sagging" is flat out fucking great.

Some eyes do indeed go blacks as aces.

Best track on the record. It's too bad the whole record is such a slovenly mess. Dunno. Perhaps that's the point?
I may need to revisit.

Yeah, I think I always approached the album on the premise that it was going to be a messy disaster and have thus never really been disappointed.

Plus, what can I say, I'm a sucker for what Dave B throws out there.

2 years after reuniting there has barely been a whisper about any new My Bloody Valentine material/reissues.

I'm still really fucking pissed that Marah decided not to release that album on CD.

CDs are done, I'll never buy another one...vinyl or digital only.

Sujan's album is my biggest disappointment. I find it impossible to listen to much of it. The electronic portions are jarring and badly done.

Much as I loved "The '59 Sound," I had a baaaad feeling about what Gaslight Anthem would follow it with and I was pretty much right. The songs have hooks and all the same ingredients, but it just didn't stick with me at all.

i totally agree on american slang. however, then i heard their new single of "tumbling dice" and realized that american slang really wasn't the worst from them.

I think American Slang is pretty good, no better or worse than the last one.

Yeah, this seems like a case of people piling their own baggage onto a band. '59 Sound wasn't as great as some claimed, and Slang isn't as bad. It's hard to live up to the expectations for something that wasn't there to begin with. Also, their version of "Tumblin' Dice" is pretty good; they wisely slow it down instead of going mall punk on it.

While I definitely prefer '59 Sound to the new one, I do feel this way on the Dead Weather's Sea of Cowards. Easily as strong or better than Horehound.
