I thought this might be more productive than having a rap forum that nobody reads or posts it

I'll start it off with this:

http://best.complex.com/lists/The-100-G ... gues-Songs

I'll post a pic tomorrow of Scotty D and Method Man at Macy's in ATL.

I met Doug E. Fresh backstage at a work event a few years ago, but was too chicken to ask him why his early records are out of print, and if he would let me put them out on vinyl again......I curse myself ever since....

from the event, Doug E. performing with Galactic as his backing band....Amazing time!

cocaine blunts top 50 singles of 2010

The ones I have heard in the top 10 are pretty much favorite jams.

yes this.

Here are my favorite rap albums this year.

1. Kanye West- My Beautiful Dark twisted fantasy

This one grew on me, I didn't like it that much when I first heard it, but I think that it took me a few listens to pick up on all the things going on underneath the ego and bragging. Beats, guests artists, and some of the best rapping Kanye's ever done.

2. Big Boi- Sir Luscious Left Foot

I feel like most rappers don't put out albums, rather just collections of songs, but this is an album in the sense that it all makes sense together and every song is good. I find that now when I go back and listen to Outkast I'm starting to like Big Boi's parts better than Andre's after listening to this. Such a great ear for beats and one of the best flows in rap.

3. Gucci Mane- Jewelry Selection Mixtape

When Gucci Mane first came out I thought he was a clown. He's matured so much from his early days it's surprising. This is one of the most cold blooded rap releases I've heard. He focuses on, and defines, such a singular character on this release that it becomes relentless. All minor key noir beats with dead pan lyrics about murder, coke, and money. The matter of fact way he raps coupled with the fact that unlike most rappers he was a dealer and has killed some one makes it all that much more believable.

4. Nas and Damien Marley- Distant Relatives

Nas has always been one of my favorite rappers, in fact he is the first rapper that I ever loved and the one that convinced me that rap was worthwhile in the first place. That being said Damien Marley is the best thing about this. The production and music on this is perfect, the way these two interact is flawless. The chemistry between them makes this into something more than a vanity project. It's like they both inspired each other, it's better than both of their more recent solo records.

i'm bad at making yearly lists, i forgot that Big Boi came out this year and I loved it. Kanye surprised the hell out of me as I've always been wishy washy on him. This album although a little long at parts is really great top to bottom. I need to listen to the Gucci more, but was also happily surprised at how much I liked it. I love the song "Distant Relatives" but never got around to hearing the rest of the album.

I love the Earl album, and appreciate the brevity. Everyone puts Illmatic high on their list of all time favorite albums but then forget the part where it's the shortest rap album in history, shorter than some bands EPs. So thanks Early for making a short album that works as an album and every song is great.

I also like the Tyler the Creator album, but not quite as much as Earl's.

Is the new Ghostface out yet? I've been scouring for it all morning.

Also, I love the Kanye album, and it probably is his best rapping yet. That said, I still think his rapping still isn't that good.
