You might try a sensibility not decades old, and less sit-com realia trotted out to placehold and divert from the content. Also, think of anglo-saxon roots not latinate multi-syllables.

this sounds important to some, one; or fifteen. love the big words though! TTYL!

I figured that Ariel Pink was similar to Jiu Jiu or whatever that dude's name is , considering the dog-fucker album art, and dog-fucker listeners.

This.

I actually gave it a shot. Your instincts were correct.

I've been listening to it all morning. Put it this way: the album should be packaged with four oven mits, a roll of duct tape and a jar of peanut butter.

It just moved up five places on my year end list because of this post.

So many are saying "why is this good, why do I like this... what the hell is it?" I saw him two weeks ago live.... it's exemplifies the foundation of all this rock and roll addiction that's carried on now for 60 years... damaged and fearful psyches saved by the love of music. "Ain't there one damn song that can make me break down ad cry...." And that exemplification is constantly looking for a new way to attain "release" each new epoch, market trend, demographic shift, self-satisfaction.... rude boy, rude boy. The man who sold the world indeed.

agreed. i might just call this my album of the year now.

i find it hilarious that some people that claim love rock n roll so damn much just don't get Ariel Pink. this album is more rock n roll than any other released in fucking ages.

I find it hilarious that you've now declared yourself the authority on what is and what isn't rock n roll. America can now rest easy, Ol' Dale has come to lay the gospel from the mountain on us in all its hyperbolic glory.

Also, where did I say that I didn't like or appreciate the album? Or want to listen to it more?

with a comment like "the album should be packaged with four oven mits, a roll of duct tape and a jar of peanut butter", i would not expect you would be interested in any further listening. maybe i'm way off.

But that expectation is more a you problem than a me problem, right?

Or am I missing something?

Ah, jeez, can't I pontificate the gospel of rock n roll? Pleeeeezz? I never get to do anything.

Favorite thing I heard springsteen say in a concert..."I can't promise you life everlasting, but I can promise you.... life....right....NOW!"

Jerkass, I'm really looking forward to seeing your list. When I find out your #1 pick, I'm going to turn your girlfriend/wife into a dirty dishrag (all holes) while listening to it, that way you'll always have fond memories of it.

nothing personal, it's just something that needs to be done.

man, this is the best post I've seen here in awhile
