That seems to be the opposite for me. I have yet to get sick of a Girl Talk album.

Same here, I'm really liking this new one.

i finally gave it a listen, to see what all the fuss was about, and i was pretty blown away

i mean, there's no doubt i'm a simpleton in terms of this whole laptop mashup thing, but i was just in awe listening to this

i definitely plan on checking out his back catalog

too bad he uses something as ridiculous as "girl talk" for his pseudonym - makes it harder to spread the word for fear of instantaneous ridicule

but i dig the sounds, man

Scientist Launches Dubstep Into Outer Space!

Yeah, this release almost seems inevitable as soon as you see it. It's actually 2 CDs, the first one gathering new tracks or at least new versions of tracks from modern Dubstep artists like Kode 9, Shackleton, Loefah, Mala, and King Midas Sound. The second disc Scientist takes it all and remixes the hell out of it. If that sounds like a good idea; it is. If you like this shit, you likely really need this.

his previous two are a lot better than the new one. unstoppable is alright but secret diary is unlistenable.

Nice grab, tozer.

I wiped the equivalent of several five-gallon buckets full of cum into my sheets during my early teenage years. Two of those were indirectly related to Helmet -- at least around the time that my pubes were punching through, my parents were never home, there was a 20 inch stack of Playboys in their bathroom and Meantime (1992) was a once-a-day listen. Nothing since Meantime has been as solidly belligerent and cum-worthy.

I hated Meantime's follow-up Betty (1994), but apparently I'm the only guy who liked Aftertaste (1997 ). Despite Helmet's inconsistent output, by 1997 I had industrial music, a car, 20 hours of cybersex per month and a sunbathing neighbor. Me and Helmet were growing apart.

Every album after Aftertaste (1997) sounded like modern rock radio. The perpetually stagnant nu-metal genre that gained momentum in the late '90's was stemmed partly from Helmet's sound. Nonetheless, Size Matters (2004) and Monochrome (2006) are painful.

After various incarnations of the band dropped two turd-filled albums, no one paid attention to Seeing Eye Dog (2010). I drunkenly stumbled onto it and let it sit on my desktop for two weeks. Then I got bored enough to give it a listen.

After initial skepticism, the first couple tracks indeed sounded like the Helmet of old. A gray pube turned back to brown. But the album is very uneven with several force-fed experimental tracks. As is the trend with the droney content of every Helmet album, my attention waned in the second half which includes a well-done but completely out of place Beatles cover. And Hamilton's vocals aren't even approaching the intensity of Meantime. He's 51. I can't believe he didn't start an alt-country band.

Although most people don't give a shit about this band anymore, I'll probably give this album a couple more listens, search xhamster.com for some amateur milfs and ultimately forget about it.

And the second disc of the album is live versions of old singles.

Recommended tracks:

2. Seeing Eye Dog
1. So Long
...and maybe
5. In Person (although it sounds like a circa 1997 Foo Fighters' song)

Great bump. I actually like Betty a lot, but I never gave anything post-Aftertaste a chance.

I liked both Betty AND Aftertaste, but IIRC everything after that sucked, or I heard multiple people say it sucked, and let the new stuff slide by.
