2010 Movies Thread

I lol'd a few times at the dialogue in TRON: Legacy, but yeah, the ONLY way to see this film is on the big screen with 3D. It was incredible looking. Daft Punk's cameo in the lounge scene was pretty clever, but I guess I should've expected it. Their soundtrack was brilliant when synched with the film.

I watched it on Netflix Streaming on Monday and loved it as well. That line at the end of the movie was great.

The Big Sleep

Part of my series to watch every Film Noir of note. It was good if not a little too much of the classic blueprint. I kept hoping that Bacall's character turned out to be a bad guy. Or least her dad. Still, there was a lot to enjoy. Especially, Bogart as Phillip Marlowe with classic lines galore (probably helped that it was Faulkner screenplay from a Chandler novel). It was pretty racy for it's time as well.

The Long Good Friday - Rewatched this, love it. 4 stars

Cronos - Guillermo del Toro's first movie, great style and story, you can tell he's going to be a great filmaker, but this falls short for me. 3 stars

The Chaser - Excellent thriller from Korea about a serial killer, highly recommended. 4.5 stars

The Hunted - Kind of overlooked action/thriller from 03' Del Toro, and Tommie Lee Jones...solid entertainment. 3.5 stars

44 inch Chest - I was hoping for much better. Decent gangster flick, not enough story really to carry a movie, but the actors make this worth watching. 3 stars.

hell yeah, lots of free time lately...I'm was thinking of just doing the instant only membership, but I think I'm gonna go with the one dvd at a time plan.
