Fucking Packers looked GOOD in that game. Jesus. I'm getting sorta excited.

Speaking of Favre's "retirement", it would be kinda cool to see the Super Bowl matchup of the two teams he screwed. In fact, that's what I'm rooting for, mainly because I think the Packers would have an easier time beating the Jets than the Steelers.

I'm not a fan of Favre per se but I fail to see how he "screwed" either the Jets or the Vikings.

I think he screwed those teams by waiting until the last possible minute to let them know whether or not he was going to play, which made it virtually impossible for them to feasibly establish a viable QB depth chart.

In the case of the Vikings, I remember him almost leading them to the Super Bowl, trying to retire and then, his teammates getting on a plane and talking him in to coming back and playing

Guys, the Vikings aren't in the playoffs. I think he meant the Jets and the Packers.

How did he screw over the Packers then? They choo-choo-choosed Aaron Rodgers and told him to kick rocks. Up until that point, they were totally happy with him.

I'm sure the Packers and Favre both have some blame for how things went down, and I'm not fully familiar with the history of the Favre divorce from the Packers. But, believe me, a LOT of Packer fans hate the man despite what he did as a player for the franchise. Here's a summary of the history of one of those Favre-hating Packer fans.

http://theredmieni.blogspot.com/2009/10 ... screw.html

To be honest, I don't see why some of them despise him so much. Unless they just think he was too much of a pussy for not wanting to compete with Rodgers for the starting job he believed was his. I think he was a great player for the Packers in his prime, but that Rodgers was better than him already in 2008. It was just his time to pass the torch to the younger, talented stud, and I don't think Favre's ego would allow that to happen.

I suppose this could be put in the Random thread but its semi-NFL related. It also could just be put into a WTF thread.

Can someone explain to me what the hell is going on with Al Davis. This dude is disintegrating before our very eyes and turning into The Fly or the Toxic Avenger or something.

From his presser the other day announcing the hiring of Hue Jackson.

I'm sorry everyone:

Also, apologies to FT since he pretty much posted a pic from the same presser yesterday.

Guess I scrolled past it before the pic downloaded.

Still, horrifying.
