what's puzzling about the headliners? they are the most popular bands there.

Gord Downie is playing, that's kind of weird.

no pulp...

People seem to be missing the fact that SUEDE is playing or, ahem, The London Suede.

was this lineup drawn from a blog aggregator?

the 3-5 bands I'd want to see will probably all be playing either in LA or Pomona in the week before Coachella, so I'll save myself the $/festival irritation by seeing them then.

I saw Suede right after Bernard left. His replacement was a 19-y.o. kid (at the time) that, honestly, tore it the fuck up. Still were a great, great live band.

Jazzfest's lineup is better.

I'd probably rather see Bon Jovi. There's some terrible stuff as Jazzfest - Kid Rock, leads the way. But it's a really diverse line-up that has something for everyone. You can see Sonny Rollins, Willie Nelson, The Arcade Fire, and Jimmy Buffett. Not to mention Lucinda Williams, The Neville Brothers, and The Radiators. And Trombone Shorty.

All of the "headliners" from Coachella will be at Jazzfest save KOL. Instead of 100 indie bands that will fade back into obscurity after Coachella, you can see great bands in almost any genre at Jazzfest.

this is fucking retarded, and probably one of the most ignorant statements i've seen posted here.

well done dude. enjoy John Mellencamp at Jazzfest.

Dude, it was meant to be hyperbolic. In all honesty the "under card" looks pretty decent for Coachella this year. Way better than previous years.

Still stand by my comment that I enjoy the diversity of Jazzfest more. And the food alone makes Jazzfest better.

The John Mellencamps of the world are great. They draw a crowd and leave the good stages less crowded and more enjoyable. I won't go near Mellencamp, Kid Rock, Bon Jovi, or Buffet. That's for amateurs.
