Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons: 25th Anniversary Collection

Well, 3 CDs of this stuff may be overkill, especially when it starts to get into the group's later stuff and some of Frankie Valli's solo hits like Oh What A Night and all. But, for the earlier stuff and for those who enjoy the later material (and I do or not, depending on mood), this collection is pretty great. One of the great pop/rock vocal groups of the early sixties, at the very least the Four Seasons material like Walk Like a Man, Sherry, an excellent version of Ain't That A Shame and many more are classic songs.

Mind Spiders

New full length from the guy from the Marked Men. new group Mind Spiders had a good single out at the end of last year and now comes the debut full length. More catchy garage rock as you would expect. Pretty damn good too.

A great late-career reinvention for Nick. He makes a great torch singer and his wit plays just perfectly into this type of music.

G Stone Book

Great mix of downtempo stuff featuring Kruder & Dorfmeister, Tosca, Peace Orchestra and a bunch more. I know this sort of thing is all out of fashion right now but I still think it sounds great and this is really a fantastic mix of the style.

The White Stripes: De Stijl

I've probably said enough about this album in general, a personal favorite. But wannaa mention that for you vinyl fans, the new reissue of this one is really nice. All analog and a high quality pressing. Available at Third man. The White Blood Cells one is good too.
