DBT is playing tonight at Jack White's joint. Very good source is saying live vinyl will be released of show. Intriguing. Hope there is not just a limited ed. of it. Also, could this be their joint Record Store Day thing?

Third Man Records - Nashville, TN

setlist:

Used To Be A Cop
Get Downtown
GoGo Boots
Dancin Ricky
Pulaski
**pause to change tape**
Percy Sledge's "Take Time To Know Her" w/David Hood
Eddie Hinton's "Everybody Needs Love" w/David Hood
Love Like This
Mercy Buckets

It was recorded live to analog tape and is being pressed on Black/Blue vinyl for purchase

Quote:
Black & Blue split colored LPs of the performance will be available for purchase for attendees after the show and for three days after. Save your ticket! LPs will be available for collection within a month and you will be notified via the Third Man newsletter.

It was really cool getting to see them in the 200 cap room, and it sounds incredible. Like a studio. No muddled vocals, crystal clear mix. Also David Hood's bass playing was effortless and had such a deep groove that Shonna hasn't learned how to capture. I had seen Wanda Jackson + Jack White & The Third Man Band a couple of weeks ago at the Third Man Records venue. That's something I'll never forget.

So are these records only available to those who were at the show, or can they be purchased from third man at some point ?

Not exactly sure. They usually release their "Live at Third Man" recordings to the public, but not sure about this one. I'll ask.

I'm only slightly familiar with JW's Third Man stuff, but isn't there usually a limited and an unlimited release?

Yeah, the DH numbers are great live, and I'm glad they are committing them to tape. 2 months into the year and already 2 releases. Incredible.

ok, so Blue/Black split color vinyl are available only to show attendees. They normally release Third Man Live releases on regular black vinyl about 3 weeks after the show, so sign up for the Newsletter to get word of the non-exclusive release.

If only I had actually gotten one...

#1 I don't have a turntable
#2 I had to pee after the show so didn't wait around to go into the TMR shop to claim the split-color
#3 I'm not in a position to re-sell anything I attain via TMR. Conflict of interest.

Well, you would've made at least face off of me...

But I get the after-show pee necessity.

I think you can still get it if you kept your ticket.

I pre-ordered it today. 6 to 8 weeks for the Black/Blue split-color. I don't know that I'll part with it though.

Nice. Yeah, its a nice keepsake to remember the show. Not everyone gets a recording of a show they've attended.

Saw that, and while I dig what they're doing...it also sucks for those of us who pre-ordered the album directly from them.

I'll bet you a can of Old Bay they end up sending them to pre-orderers after Record Store Day.

I pre-ordered the LP awhile back and am looking forward to spending some time with it. The band's supposed to be on Fallon's show 2/15. Here's to hoping they play "Everybody Needs Love."

My guess is either Mercy Buckets or Used To Be A Cop.

I still haven't listened to a release of the record. I missed the band's stream of the record last night. But, yeah I'm definitely looking forward to it. I, too, pre-ordered the LP from the band, but I broke down and bought the EP/CD from Rough Trade UK last night. Some people on the board spent $71 on ebay for the EP. Figured I could give the extra copy of the cd to someone since one comes with the LP.

Going to see them in DC next weekend on Friday and Saturday night. Gonna be a rock show.

I don't usually call attention to the live shows on this website as there are just so many of them, but this one is particularly good and the sound is great.

Lost Highway will commemorate its anniversary throughout 2011 by releasing 20 different titles from its extensive and diverse catalog on limited edition clear vinyl. This series will begin on Jan. 25 with releases of Ryan Adams’ Gold and the soundtrack of O Brother, Where Art Thou?. That will be followed on Feb. 15 with releases of Hayes Carll’s KMAG YOYO and Drive-By Truckers’ Southern Rock Opera.
