There is not room in this league if all teams from last year return. To join, get the commissioner to increase the maximum number of teams, or remove teams that will not be returning. (Error #638)

is there an iphone app or something for that? and which source is okay to get information about the real life baseball season? I mean, this is not really covered by german media... any tips and necessary information about it would be much appreciated. ;-)

Berliner, There will probably be an app eventually, but I doubt that it's been released yet since the season is pretty far off. Opening day is April 1st, I think. There is plenty of source material out there...Yahoo, ESPN, and MLB.com all have extensive fantasy projections and mock drafts and shit like that.

besides the fact that I mostly only know the NL East, are there any other reasons I suck at this so bad? I realize this goes against your own self interest, but does anyone care to share some vague strategy?

Taking a quick look at your rosters from the past two seasons I noticed you only had a total of 2 hitters with above .300 average, and 5 pitchers with double digit wins over the two years. It's easy to blinded by Home runs, and Stolen Bases, and Saves and stats like that...I'd say draft high average hitters and try to get at least two solid #1 starting pitchers.

position scarcity (know the drop off between what you can get if you wait and the person you want is gone)
injuries - pitchers drop like flies (be careful investing too much too early.
saves are a waste - new guys emerge all the time
same with steals in a way.

i drafted Brian Wilson because his name was Brian Wilson, and that worked out well.

Tim's keys to his fantasy baseball success:

1. Do not draft Adam Dunn.
2. Do not draft rookie Reds because they had 2 good games in spring training.
3. Draft players with funny names.
4. Draft players with the same last name so your roster looks like the guest list for a family reunion.

i guess this is where my knowledge gap comes into play. In football i know that if the top few QBs are gone that I can wait 9 rounds and get someone as good as Eli Manning. But in baseball I don't really know where the drop off falls and where I can and should wait.

I suppose I can do more research than I've done in the past

to the question of saves, do you guys rotate who is starting depending on what teams are playing each day or do you just ride out your best 4 closers and set up guys and don't mess with starting the lesser guys.
