Anyone know of a good replacement site for imageshack?

Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van de Keizer Blauw

http://www.ratebeer.com/ratings/beer/go ... blue/6170/

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Every year on the 24th of February, the birthday of "Charles the fifth", the Brewery brews the Gouden Carolus "Cuvee of the Emperor" in a limited quantity and with an eye on the highest quality and tradition. This unique brewing, with only extra fine Belgian hops and with a higher alcohol level, guarantees a better evolution in the time, than the already known Gouden Carolus. This beer, as all our beers, is 100 % natural, with no preservatives, no adjuncts and no chemicals. We bottle it in bottles of 75 cl and closed with a quality cork. Excellent to store several years. Every year the public is invited to assist to the brewing process.
Was 8% abv in 2000-2002, 10% in 2003 and 11% in 2004.

I've posted this beer before, but this was one of my personal valentine's day gifts to myself while enjoying fine craft beers and a lovely meal tonight. It's pretty fucking good.

You use it to hotlink images here? And do you have a pay account with them or just the freebie?

Yea, I will link photos to it here. They do have a free level of membership (though it does have a monthly cap on MB uploaded), but I've actually been paying for the past few years ($25 or something). Actually might be a little limiting if you are looking for free, especially with the number of images you seem to take.

I still use Photobucket, and I guess it still works fine. It's free. I'm pretty sure it's more or less the same as Imageshack (was?).

Well, that works. So there's the keg of Allagash White we went through this weekend in VT.

Have been drinking copious amounts of coffee stout lately, but will be trying a new brewery tonight and am looking forward to giving a try to their Zwickelbier and their Zucker Weisse. They are also supposed to have a realyl good porter.

Oh man. More proof that this stuff is ALL subjective.

I posted about this a few pages back as well. Did not like very much at all. Thought the sour cherry and black liquorice flavors were off putting and the alcohol started overwhelming everything as I got towards the bottom.

At 11%, I could see that happening. I'd still like to give it a go myself.

Local Brewery, Urban Chestnut, supposed to be specializing in a few less common European style beers, thus things like the Zucker Weisse, which is from descriptions I've heard through the grapevine a sour tasting beer that gets sweetened with a spoon of some sort of syrup that is sometimes fruit flavored. Not sure it sounds like something I'd go for regularly, but as something to try it sounds interesting.

I should mention here that FemDerris gave me a Chimay sampler for Valentine's day.

1 Red
1 White
1 Blue
1 Chimay goblet

God bless her.

The goblet is key.

Holy christallmighty. I'm halfway through a bottle of Dogfish head "Fort" and I don't know if I can finish. So tart and sweet and alcoholic. My god.

Ommegang tasting up tonight.

They're only doing 3:

Witte
Three Philosophers
Rare Vos Amber

Pretty much 3 of their 5 year round stylings but I've never had any of their stuff except their Abbey Ale (which I liked)

Was hoping they'd have their Hennepin because I've heard good things there.

Before I grabbed one of them, the entire cosmos would have to be failing. The Hennepin is good, though.

It's cherry flavored... be advised.

Might check this out tomorrow night: http://www.charlottebeer.com/2011/02/01 ... on-feb-17/

Quote:
Greg Koch, the founder and CEO of Stone Brewing, has been spending a lot of time in Charlotte as of late. He visited the Tilted Kilt last year when that bar received the title of ”Most Arrogant Bar in America” after running through many kegs of Stone beers at discount prices. He also gave an impassioned speech in defense of craft beer at Duckworth’s Grill & Taphouse, which was one of only seven bars across the nation to host a Stone Total Tap Takeover last year.

Koch returns to Charlotte on Feb. 17 to annoint a new “Most Arrogant Bar in America.” The title is staying in the Queen City, but it now belongs to Mac’s Speed Shop on South Blvd. Mac’s, which is well-known not only for its craft beer selection but also its quality Southern barbecue, moved enough $1 pints of Stone Arrogant Bastard and $3 pints of Double Bastard to claim this year’s title.

Greg Koch (or “Stone Greg” as he’s often referred to) will visit Mac’s Speed Shop on South Blvd. on Feb. 17 to award them with a plaque acknowledging their arrogance. To celebrate, Mac’s will tap a variety of Stone brews, including Arrogant Bastard Ale, Lucky Bastard Ale, Double Bastard Ale, Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale, Dry-Hopped 2010 Double Bastard Ale, Double Dry-Hopped Lucky Bastard Ale, and 2010 Double Bastard Ale with chipotle peppers. As someone who’s had the Smoked Porter with chipotle peppers, I suggest you seek that last one out.

Jesus, $1 won't get you a pint of bum piss in Boston.

I picked up some of this last night, but have yet to try it:

Just seemed like something that the wife and I would enjoy. (We both love a nice stout with a good piece of chocolate.)
You had it?
How be it?
