When your bracket goes to shit, you gotta go back to just picking games. And I agree with yours. I concur.

He's a humorless prick and a Wake Forester.

I have enjoyed the color work of Jay Bilas in this tournament. Promotion please.

I agree. I've always respected him. Bilas is an intelligent and informed basketball commentator and writer, despite the fact that he is a Dukie.

Why is Nick Smith the only one who is dribble-driving this zone? C'mon Deron and Lutha... get involved.

Illinois look like some damn men out there. Good game so far. Not a lot of D by Louisville so far in the 2nd half though.

pretty prophetic, eh? UNC better take a lesson and play some damn defense or they might get run out of the gym as well

Illinois played a perfect half of hoops. Weber made the adjustments at halftime... went inside and it opened it up for the guards when it counted. Amazing job of coaching!

The unsung hero is Nick Smith. Powell and Ingram had 2 fouls a piece, Big Nick gave them 4 huge points and an even bigger 5+ minutes.

I would like to take the time to doff my hat to Don Haskins and his 1966 Texas Western squad who beat Kentucky and Adolph Rupp.

Pat Riley played for Kentucky in that game, too.

And it was in Cole Field House, which is also badass.

It's funny how history looks down on Rupp and Kentucky as the bastions of all things racist in basketball, despite those little things called facts. If it had been Duke (who KY beat in that regional in 66, and who also fielded an all-white team) rather than Kentucky playing Texas Western, the media would probably have made it seem like the Devils honor in defeat showed compassion to the plight of the black athlete in the 60s or something warm and fuzzy like that. But it's easy to paint anything having to do with Kentucky as having racist overtones, plus it makes for a much better story. Not that it wasn't a great story or a momentous occasion on it's own merit, because it surely was, but some of the retellings of it would make one think that all the UK fans came to Cole Fieldhouse dressed in white robes.

The coach did, though; or, he very well should have.

Adolph Rupp: most appropriately christened basketball coach ever.
