Who said I was part of the "masses?" The middle class is the class of people who aren't rich and aren't poor. I'm neither rich nor poor so I'm middle class.

But, you know what I probably know more about being poor than almost anyone on this board. That's the problem with you people. You think people don't agree with you because "they don't know about it." "If only you knew about..." Well, my single-mom (who came to this country with her immigrant mother) worked a service industry job making crap. Then, she quit said job and went to school while I was growing up. That means ZERO income. That's as below the poverty line as you can get. We existed on food stamps, loans, grants, and kindness.

So 2 generation later from my immigrant grandmother, I'm rich making 3X as much as the masses. THE AMERICAN DREAM IS DEAD.

Jesus Christ, tons of shit is boring on here. But nothing is duller than complaining about obner content. If you're going to complain about how dull middle class discussions are, I'm going to complain about how dull complaining threads are.

So, I have had this friend for a very long time. Female. She was the bff of my ex girlfriend. She and I became extremely close (no, not in any carnal way, though we joked and flirted and thought about fooling around here and there but never actually did). Fast forward a year. She is now engaged to a guy who I've been acquainted with for years but don't really know. I've known since day one of their relationship that he just didn't like me.

Last week I received an invite from them to their wedding in May. Yesterday I received a text in the am from my friend stating that her future husband doesn't like that we joke around crassly (not about us doing anything but like dick jokes and stupid shit like that on a rare occasion) and that she was cutting off communication with me and deleting me from FB etc, but "still hopes to see me in May". I was obviously pissed and confused, so I spend most of the morning texting her back, as I was at work and a phone call is too obvious to my supervisors. Long story short, the future husband calls me and basically tells me he despises me, blames me for the fact that his future wife has a dirty mind and finds dick jokes funny, and ultimately admitted that the real reason that HE TOLD HER TO END OUR FRIENDSHIP was because he basically didn't like that she and I discussed making out (as innocent as that is) before he was even in the picture.

Needless to say, I am pissed at how idiotic and unwarrented the reasons are and I am even more pissed that my friend has allowed to have this guy dictate to her who she can and cannot be friends with. I've been friends with her for nearing a decade now and he's come in over the past year and decided that she can't be friends with me anymore.

Ugh.

She was conflicted because I dated her best friend for 4 years and this was about a year after. She needed some convincing. Plus, I am good friends with her ex so it was just a lot of weirdness and neither of us ended up drunk enough at any point to actually stop caring about all that.

Unfortunately, I am not a very spiteful person at all. So those text messages, although a part of me thinks it would be funny to do, just couldn't really happen. I just had to vent.
