stupid question: If this douche thinks your past influences have "corrupted" his girl, why does he want to marry her?

I told him that I thought his perception of her level of innocence was way off. He said, "oh, because you think she isn't innocent at all?". I said, "dude, she likes dirty jokes and makes them without prompting. She is aware of things that I have certainly never informed her of. Get a grasp". A little less fluidly, but basically that.

I think that he doesn't think I have corrupted her so much as I encourage her to make jokes she otherwise wouldn't and think about things (cock) that she otherwise wouldn't. I told him that maybe it wasn't me encouraging some shameful behavior on her part so much as it is that she is actually comfortable to be herself around me because she knows there won't be any judgment.

He didn't like that.

Hegel, it's like this...and I don't think anyone here has said it: no newly married man wants his new wife to have male friends, especially if you have a long history however platonic and chaste it was with his girl. He feels threatened by your previous relationship and will always resent your presence.

The girl on the other hand, while now married still wants to feel like she is desirable to other men so will actively try to maintain old relationships with dudes she used to hang out with.

Once a girl gets married there is no reason for you to hang around, text her, call her, go out shopping, or go out to dinner with her any more.

This is the sad truth.

So that you can drink the entire way?

There are still some Giordano's locations open here and there around the city. Where are you staying?

Haha, I was just thinking this.

Nobody else move here, OK? Or if you do, please find a place to live within walking distance of your job. And just stay off the roads.

I'm half kidding, but it's not too bad. Usually around 30 minutes, just under 13 miles.

Man, I went from about 25 miles to 4 with my new gig. I only take surface streets. It's been the absolute cherry on top.

I openly go home for lunch. I can't undersell how awesome that is after 6 years of it not even remotely being an option.

Oh man, I miss that. I used to live within biking distance of where I worked, and most of the time I would go home for lunch. I'd have time to make lunch, sit in front of the TV to eat it, and then watch something for a little while before I had to head back.

I love that he is trying to sound like a well spoken intellectual titan in the mold of Isaiah Berlin but actually sounds like a regional weather guy with a broom handle up his arse.

Heh. I've been debating on doing that myself. I'm currently rocking a 2 month growth beard.

Told myself I'd shave it in March but now I'm thinking I may use it like the NHL playoffs and keep it until the Dawgs lose again in hoops.

Do that everyday. I walk to work, and its really a joy to actually experience all 4 seasons in that manner. I love coming home for lunch, grabbing the mail, firing up something on netflix streaming, and sitting down on my couch. Definitely allows me to decompress for an hour, without hurrying through a burger or microwaved meal.
