Yeah, this looks pretty nice. HDMI out could be really cool.

I don't care so much about drive space since I don't see myself using this as a primary music player.

Still wish there was some consideration for a stylus. Real missed opportunity there, but I guess that's too much of a niche market.

Somebody may be getting one of these as an anniversary/birthday gift

the hdmi out requires a separate adapter which i find annoying, but it's better than gen1, i guess. if it had been 128gb, i'd be way more stoked.

I'll probably hold out to the iPad4 in a year or two....

I'm gonna hold off on getting one until it has enough features where it will be my main laptop device and can do everything my laptop does.

Which is different from any other Apple device how?

Having only spent a little bit of time with Loogs' ipad, I can honestly say that I love the damn thing but that it's fatal flaw for me is size: Too big.

The new ipad is as thin as a kindle if that helps? I would prefer an 8 or 9" size, but apple is stuck on 10 apparently.

The thinness is great, but 10" just doesn't feel portable to me...but I recognize that I have pretty specific needs since I'm on the go a lot and only spend 1-2 days a week in a semblance of an office. (I could use the damn thing just for reading stuff at night but that seems a little irrational--for that kind of cash, I need some thing that works.)

I'm with you on 10 being too big. There are some android tabs coming in 8 and 9 inch varieties. Might be worth checking.

I'm keeping close tabs especially now that I've ditched my iphone for android and since I can tether or hotspot on my new phone. That's another thing i dont want if I buy a tablet: another mobile phone contract (if I can help it).

Oh def. I have free tethering on my Nexus One as well. I will never pay a separate data charge for a tablet!

iPad 3 will be out toward the end of this year, and will blow this away. This is analogous to the iPhone 3GS upgrade vs iPhone 3, more or less

For now I will keep my money in my pocket...

If I traveled more than 5 days a month I would definitely own a tablet though

I heard this too. Heard it was because Apple has the yearly cycle for all their products and they want the ipad to be their Fall/Holiday release...With all the competition out there, they couldn't wait another 6 months to release the ipad2, so they made minor improvements and ina sense rushed it out with the idea of blowing away with the world this Fall.

I'm still gonna hold out to the 4 or even 5 before I jump ship from a laptop.

I think the size is actually perfect. Any smaller and I wouldn't enjoy watching tv/movies on it. I honestly love mine and I didn't even really want one. I actually bought it for the wife but I've kind of taken it over.

Yeah, smaller and it's practically an iPhone. An iPad is still small enough to easily carry around. I don't see how making it a couple of inches smaller would increase the portability enough to justify that loss in screen size.
