kinda?

they closed 2 post offices in Cincy as of March 1. :(

they have these new machines (which cost almost 5 mil a piece) to sort magazines/catalogs so it reduces the time in the office which translates to more time on the street for everyone and 6 routes were due to get cut and mine was one of them. it's sorta up in the air now as to what will happen with us but we'll either have to bid a u-set (covering other peoples routes on their day off) in our office or bid to another office, which i have no idea about because i've only ever been at this one office and have heard horror stories about others.

Heh. I've been debating on doing that myself. I'm currently rocking a 2 month growth beard.

Told myself I'd shave it in March but now I'm thinking I may use it like the NHL playoffs and keep it until the Dawgs lose again in hoops.

Today at lunch I said "I'll shave at the first forecast of 70 degrees". I keep mine trimmed to a "2" on the Norelco beard trimmer.

Damn man. Sorry to hear it. Any thought to looking into the other carriers, UPS, FedEX, DHL, etc? You clearly have the resume.

If you qualify, don't be ashamed to collect unemployment. Lord knows I wasn't. I pay my taxes. It can help alleviate some of the stresses.

On the bright side (even if you don't want to hear it right now), this sort of thing can ultimately prove a liberating and rejuvenating thing. The next chapter if you will.

Sorry to hear about this, shiv. Best of luck in finding something new.

Enjoy the break, if possible.

It definitely worked out for you, Derris.

Best of luck, shiv.

A chilly but gloriously sunny day. My back is killing from gardening.

I'm just about to head up north for the Chesterfield vs Northampton, league two game. Come on Cobblers!

I just got back from doing a 30min speech and Q&A at my son's 2nd grade class for "Career Day." I don't what the hell I did, but afterward they all wanted my autograph . Strängé.

And, for not being an astronaut or a fireman I still managed to put a beaming smile on my kid's face.

My wife's uncle died today. 47. I assumed it was one of her 90+ year old grandpa's when she burst into tears after answering the phone. This was a little unexpected. Leaves behind a wife and 7 year old daughter. :(

A friend of mine went up to his hunting cabin for the weekend. That evening, he heard
the sounds of a mountain lioness in heat.\
And it's LOUD.

That noise would scare the living shit out of me.
He knew what it was, was fully armed, and it scared the living shit out of him.
Seriously one of the freakiest things that I can imagine hearing coming from outside my door.
Fuck.
