Dunno if you've heard of these boys -- dirty garage band from Detroit. (Chad, what you can tell us about 'em?) Check 'em out:

They first blew me away opening up for Urge Overkill here in Chicago in early '04. That energy at that show was just unreal and very unexpected. I saw them about a month ago opening for Radio 4. Live I really enjoy their sound, but that energy and that organ aren't captured to well on their record, right? I'd definitely recommend them live though. They're what, 22 or 23?

I can't vouch for their recorded sound aside from that one song I've got posted up there. But, I'm anxious to buy their newest album if it's indicative what they're like. I can only imagine what they're like live - sorry to say, I missed 'em when they came through here with Radio 4. I'll definitely be on the lookout for them next time they come by.

And, yeah, they're just kids!

Like 'em a lot - not typical of what most people consider "the Detroit sound" since they're a lot deeper in melody than scuzz, but that's fine with me.
"Got What You Want" is a great record that I don't throw on enough. I'm gonna try to check them out on the 14th. They're kind of in this mish-mash of Detroit bands that's great and perpetually simmering but not quite breaking through (along w/ The Dirtbombs, Demolition Doll Rods, Outrageous Cherry, Gore Gore Girls, The Paybacks, Detroit Cobras, the list goes on).
If you wanna be REALLY cool, check out the drummer's old band, Moods For Moderns. Their one full-length ("Loud and Clear," on Doghouse Records I think) is one of the best pure pop records of the last few years. I can't recommend it enough.

Class dismissed.

Exactly...I've got the "Are You Green?" album, & it's REALLY good. Just never got around to hearing their other stuff for some reason.
