Just added this tune to my cover repertoire:

Played it yesterday and it went over really well. I love this song.

“Our nation enters this conflict reluctantly — yet, our purpose is sure. The people of the United States and our friends and allies will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime that threatens the peace with weapons of mass murder.” – President Bush, March 19, 2003

“I want the American people to know that the use of force is not our first choice and it’s not a choice that I make lightly. But we cannot stand idly by when a tyrant tells his people that there will be no mercy, and his forces step up their assaults on cities like Benghazi and Misurata, where innocent men and women face brutality and death at the hands of their own government.” – President Obama, March 19, 2011

Presidential FAIL, LOL.

Man, those two situations are just so radically different.

And I'm really not saying that as some rabid Obama supporter/Bush hater. They just are. In fact, I'm kind of appalled at the shallowness of all the people who are all "OMG another war, way to go OBAMA". Have you completely forgotten what the march up to the invasion of Baghdad in 2003 was like, how much the administration pushed for it, and how ugly and transparent all the tenuous links to 9/11 were?

It's just funny to me at surface level viewing. Sure there are plenty and vast differences between the two, but for someone who is overly disgusted by American politics it just points out to me how different isn't really THAT different at all. Even our diametrically opposed leaders are still pretty much along a very similar cultural line. If anything, this flies in the face of all the right wing nutties who think that Obama is some version of the anti-christ who is looking to become a dictator and end the US political system as we know it.

The major difference is that France was leading the NATO backed attacks on Libya. Let that sink in....France...
I won't deny the US is probably the most influential nation pushing these war efforts, but for god's sake...France...

60 years of WWII jokes broke the camel's back.
