where is the app tab?

Right-click and "Pin to App Tab". I use it for gmail right now. It just gives you a narrower tab for frequently used tabs.

Why not Google Bookmarks?

For anyone who doesn't already use these tweaks, once you install FF4, type "about:config" in the address bar, then scroll through the entries and change the following values to those shown:

network.http.max-connections 30 to 96
network.http.max-connections-per-server 15 to 32
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server 6 to 8
network.http.pipelining false to true
network.http.proxy.pipelining false to true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests 30 to 8
network.http.pipelining.ssl false to true
network.http.proxy.pipelining false to true

Gets you a bit more page-loading speed.

There's also a bookmarklet you can use for click-to-add capability.
