This is the big one for me, although Bright Eyes was pretty shitty too. What's been a huge letdown for you guys?

Art Brut- though really it's just lingering disappointment after their awesome debut.

Cornershop!

Pretty much every band I was expecting something from let me down.

radiohead
that new obits album is kind of boring.
rainbow arabia, though after going back and listening to their ep's i only liked a handful of their songs.
i don't like the new nicole atkins as much as neptune city.
john vanderslice was just ok but he's been hit or miss for awhile now.
wiz khalifa
that weird boris album.
tv on the radio, though i've only given it one listen.
strokes had maybe 3 good songs.

yeah, but i think the first one had some better songs. or maybe i was just excited to heard rick froberg in another band.
they should also never let that other dude sing.

I don't know that there are too many bands these days I really hold out great hopes for...which means less disappointments I guess. Not that I don't every year, including this one, hear a ton of stuff I really like. I just don't really have any sort of core of favorites I always expect great things from these days.

Honestly, nothing so far.

I mean King of Limbs isn't so great, but it isn't awful or anything. I don't really have any expectations from Radiohead at this point. I mean, I think I'm more disappointed in how they've marketed it than I am in the music itself.

I wanted to like that Nicholas Jaar album more than I do, but it's alright so whatever.

can't say anything's been a huge disappointment so far. maybe some stuff has taken a while to sink in. i guess that Glasvegas album is kinda a bummer, but i'm holding out hopes that it may be a grower.

Agreed! Although...

Braids - Expected more from this out of all the positivity surrounding it, especially out of Montreal.
Iron & Wine - It's good, but then it's too polished, and I have no desire to go back to it.
Earth - Not bad, but lower on the trajectory from their last two full efforts for sure.

I love that it takes like a half hour to get going.

I'd kinda wondered why I hadn't seen a single mention of this since the beginning of the year, and I guess that's why.

(I haven't heard it.)

Yeah, I didn't have any expectations really. In Rainbows took a while to sink in, but this hasn't at all. It's pretty boring. Strokes had a few good songs, "Under Cover of Darkness" is probably the best thing they've done since Room on Fire.
