OK, so no one else here probably gives a damn. But, just happen to be going to a show tomorrow with the UK Subhumans, no not UK Subs...damn this shit is ridiculous. Anyway, they are good and fine and all, but I feel a bit disloyal since I have always been firmly in the camp of the Canadian Subhumans being far superior. But, those fuckers never seem to leave Canada anymore...perhaps a good choice, not sure. Anyway, I will be seeing the lesser Subhumans tomorrow and have spoken to more than one person of late claiming the UK Subhumans are the far superior band. I did not realize there was any dispute here and always assumed my opinion in this matter was universal and beyond reproach. So, anyone wanna stand up for the UK boys or co-sign my faith in the originals from the great white north?

Frankly, I haven't heard a ton by either. But what I do have (or have heard) strikes me that the UK Subhumans were very hit or miss and the Canadian band was good, but not great. For my money, based on what I've heard, I'd take the UK band's "Black and White" over anything else by either band (although "Slave To My Dick" is a fun one still), but if I had to choose one band, it'd be the Canadians.

Well, I kinda look at it like this. The boys from Canada had the name first, Slave to My Dick is a great song, and while the UK boys talk big, the bass player for the Canadians actually ended up serving 5 years for his role in blowing up a plant that manufactured parts for nukes.

Can't say ti changed my mind, but the boys from across the pond put on a fine show last night. I may have to say that for old hardcore bands that still pop up from tiem to time, they really have kept their shit straight and don't come across even close to nostalgic. And, of course, I like me some good old radical lefties so that was nice. Also, played with MDC, well Dave and whoever is supposed to be the rest of the band these days. They kicked ass anyway, were good guys too. And, I'd forgotten how many MDC songs I remember. Guitar player was cracking me up, bitching that they were out of weed and forgot to play Maryjane for President, which usually prompts all the stoners in the audience to wanna smoke 'em out.
