SHOCKING NEWS OUT OF OKLAHOMA. THE ENTIRE STATE IS FULL OF FAIL

Hank Hill mistakenly thought for almost 40 years that he was born in Texas, before the truth was revealed about his parents' trip to New York.

So I do my normal pre-dawn wake-up this morning, walk out on the front porch to grab a quick smoke, and there's a Saturn SUV parked (very neatly, perpendicular to the street) in the yard. Hmmm... since Kyle was out last night on the karaoke circuit, I figure he brought a friend home.

Kyle gets up around 7 and asks me who the SUV belongs to. Hmmm...by this time, it's daylight, so I go back out on the porch and have a second look. There's an inanimate body in the driver's seat. Hmmm... OK, so I'll give dude a half hour or so to wake up on his own; I mean, it ain't like he's bothering anything, and 1) if he's dead, there's no particular rush, and 2) if he's not dead, the prospect of rousting a hungover, burly black dude before breakfast isn't near the top of my list of activities I'm interested in.

About 7:30, I walk back out on the porch just as dude is regaining consciousness, gives a few puzzled looks around, cranks the Saturn up, and drives off.

Life is weird.

Today's word of the day "terabecquerel." A terabecquerel equals a trillion becquerels, a measure for radiation emissions.

Here's my thing with birthers - how do you know where you were born? Well, because your parents tell you. If you're like me, you lived there for a very short time, and have never actually been back, but have driven by the exit on the highway approx. 4 times.

But still, when people ask you, you say "Texas" or "Canadia" or "Out back my momma's house in a tent." Now, if lil Barry Sotero was walking around telling people he was born in HIGH-WHY-UH, and his mom, his stepdad, his white grammama from Kansas, or even some folks who knew his mom back in the day heard him, and he was giving the wrong information, they wouldn't all huddle up and say "NO ONE TELL THAT BOY HE WAS BORN IN KENYA/SINGAPORE/A MADRASSA-LAB WHERE THEY GROW TERRORISTS, BECAUSE ONE DAY HE'S GOING TO GROW UP AND RUN FOR PRESIDENT AND WE'LL HAVE TO TRICK 300 MILLION PEOPLE INTO BELIEVING THAT HE WAS BORN IN HIGHWHYUH."

They would correct him. And then he would have been telling people even before he become Barack Obama Soul Brother #1, back when he was smoking L's and scoring blow at Occidental in LA, and he was still telling folks his name was Barry Sotero, and he would have told them he was born in Singapore. And it would be common fucking knowledge.

I know this is more thought than anyone has put into this thing, but it's pretty fucking simple when you think about it.

BUT THERE'S SO LITTLE WE KNOW ABOUT HIS CHILDHOOD. THERE'S NO ONE WHO REMEMBERS HIM.

Why can't semi trucks have solar panels on their roofs? When they stop to be weighed (mandatory here in CA), they can "dump" the electricity into a charger that would power electrical vehicles. That way, there would be plenty of chargers around the state, and there wouldn't be the concern of getting the power to a distribution point- it would all happen right there at the weigh station. People who need charges would just look for the nearest weigh stations along the highways.

This could also work with Rent-A-Spaces. Plenty of room for panels on those roofs.

Aside from the myriad technical details (that I won't pretend to understand so I'll comment on what I do know), it would come down to weight and of course, cost. The weight is a pretty serious issue because increased weight can keep you off the road per DOT standards and will also cost you more in fuel. Also, a good percentage of my containers are inside a warehouse at any given time so that wouldn't be doing much good.

This is fucking awesome! Jackson is heaven on earth for me. Though Grand Targhee, just over Teton Pass, gets better snow.
