Fernet and coke.
Meyer's, lime and coke.
Tanqueray Rangpur and tonic
Brandy old fashioned
Stoli Sour

consumed while preparing some freshly ground brisket with a bit of bacon, pepper and MSG that was skillet-charred to keep the burger together then briefly deep fried to completely crisp and carmelize the exterior while leaving the interior pink. I need a better bun bread preparation since mine is always too fucking dense. On top of the mcdonalds special sauce rip off (no, it's not even similar to thousand island dressing) and veggies, I paired the burger with some fresh cut, blanched and progressively double-fried french fries.

Everything - with drinks (a full day of entertainment) - ~$8.
But your fat ass can pay $85 for frilly fast food and pre-mixed drinks because you're lazy and stupid.

Or your compromise of consuming charred hockey pucks and super market buns with ketchup, mustard and your lack of motivation because you'd rather eat shit sooner than think about a meal for later. "It works!" Or
"Fuck that, I'd rather get some defrosted take-out that costs 5x more than its worth because I'm lazy and/or stupid."

You guys better learn how to cook because in 10 years most people are not gonna be able to afford shit. If you ain't saving your pennies now, I will be fucking your shell-shocked wife in exchange for her frittata.

Hey "babes" we have an entire thread documenting gastronomy. I guarantee that 20 people here can cook better than you. I also guarantee that not 20 people can afford an $85 dinner. And that your contention of $8 for everything is total bs, because I know how much chicky gin like Rangpur costs. Lastly, the next time you consider trumpeting your tastes, understand that just because Applebee's serves things like peanut butter schnapps, kahlua and vodka up and in a stemmed glass doesn't make your drink a martini. That's made with gin, babe, real gin at that.

This is incredibly transparent. You know that, right?

You do.

MSG is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO edgy. Like the guy in my high school who dyed his hair black to be an outsider.

Cap'n called it.

And I'm trying to empty my shelves of shit I've accumulated over the past five years.
So I drank and ate a lot of gross shit last weekend.

What the hell do you do with a shitload of ten types of vermouth?
I can't stand any classic mixer where it's included.
Can I drink it like Fernet and still feel like the master?
Will my bowels be able to take it?
So many questions...

Fuck, the real question is what didn't I drink last night. I should swear off accepting unidentified concoctions from friends.

So, when did Fernet become a "thing" and why am I just hearing about it?

"Its flavor has been described as 'like black licorice-flavored Listerine.'"

Sweet Jesus, why would ANYONE want to hear about it, much lest ingest it.

It's sort of like black licorice but has more of an earthy taste to it. I'll drink it every once in awhile but usually just one shot. It helps with digestion after a big meal too.

My 1 and only interaction is when I was living at Chez Neuro. He had a bottle and kinda swore by it. I had like 1/10th of a sip as was cured of all curiosity on the subject forever.

Tastes like a dare.

I should say for clarity that it was nowhere NEAR as offensive as Stroh 80, which to my knowledge is still the most disgusting liquid sold legally to the public. But it wasn't good, either.

I became acquainted with it while living with roommates that studied abroad in Argentina.
It's the largest market for the drink for whatever reason -- even though it's based in Italy.
The demand is so high they started production in Argentina.

Definitely an acquired taste, but when one goes all out, it's usually up there with a vodka-red bull weekend in terms of stupid shit accomplished.

Reportedly, it has a butt-load of botanicals. Originated as a medicinal treatment in the mid 19th century and historically it used to contain opiates until the early 1980's.

Largest US market: San Francisco.

And while investigating Fernet, I came across some articles describing doing shots of Angostura bitters...
Probably in the same realm as Fernet and I have a huge bottle of that too...

..Maybe later.

Angostura is best reserved for old women's rose hips tea. Peychaud is the shit. And you don't do shots. You spike it. Under the tongue.

Back on topic, tonight I have a smorgasbord of Hoegaarden, Stella, Affligem, and Imperial going on.

As far as I'm concerned, Angostura is reserved in my cabinet for the Wisconsin bastardization of a brandy old-fashioned.

Tonight cracking a bottle of Glenlivet and mixing it with soda after a few white Russians.

while blasting random pulls from my collection of unlistened-to vinyl

so far:

Combat Rock
Love it to Death
George Thorogood and the Destroyers, s/t
"Around the World with Three Dog Night"
Beer Drinking songs by the Zillertal Band
Bob Seger - Seven

Looks like a shit storm.

It appears the shit storm hit when Glenlivet got trashed from soda- the music is the afterbirth.
