Projection: psychological defense mechanism where a person unconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, such as to other people.

I guess you're going to have to explain your nature through projection.
I mean. You're a prick. You admit that you've always been a prick.
And you're gonna try to make it my problem through "projection"?
Total prick move.

I think you're a bully.
A big fat fucking 40 something year old bully.
And I'm not gonna take your stupid bullshit.
Suck it up retard.

I think he might be typing through tears at this point. Or has at least reached CHH status. I kind of thought this would be more difficult, given that our boy here is an expert in art, music, cuisine, potent potables, and The American Experiment. To resort to such unbecoming behavior is a shock.

I think it's a great record. I always skip the title track but otherwise I like everything, especially "Downbound Train", "Bobby Jean" and "No Surrender".

I dig the title track, actually I can get off on the whole album still. The outtakes Unsatisfied Heart set is tops as well.

"Big fat fucking bully" got me laughing.

Never liked this album. Still not crazy about it whenever I hear anything from it. I think that it goes beyond the blatantly mid-80's production, getting right into the fact that this is not one of Bruce's better set of songs.
Please note, I still love the hell out of a lot of his stuff. Just not this.

I let it go...anyone who thinks I've been given much of anything is so far off base it's not worth it.

I was half in the bag and fucking with ol dumbie there, and he couldn't even figure that part out.

Here's what I think. I think Jerkass gets lonely, and has discovered that bad attention beats no attention at all, so he picks a topic he thinks someone here will defend, and shits on it. It's easy, you don't even have to mean any of what you say, just hit the Hyperbole button a bunch of times. Or maybe you do mean it, or some of it, but it's all academic because the point isn't Springstein or this album or anything else in the original post, it's the fight afterwards he wants so... badly... Sweet, delicious, nourishing attention. But I could be completely wrong as well, because I barely have any idea who he is, or used to be. Just a thought.

I've only logged on a couple times in the past month or so, but both times I've come across a thread of LITERALLY middle-school level (and that's being generous...) name-calling by a bunch of middle aged adults. All I can do is pray to God that I'm not involved in this kind of shit at age 40 or whatever.

I also have to say that Jerkass has become the most insufferable prick on this board...are you going through some kind of crisis? "Big fat fucking bully"? Get some friends, pick up a drinking problem...please, anything but this. Aren't you in your 20s or early 30s? And this is how you're spending your time?

I just read this, but I think you're pretty close.

As for the album, "Bobby Jean" is probably my favorite song on it, but I like them all except "Cover Me"

I actually have this on vinyl and we put it on once in awhile in the evening for the whole baby routine (books, dinner, bath, bed etc). Don't think I've ever really sat down and paid close attention but it's a great album for what I use it for. I keep trying to teach her to say "The Boss" but so far no dice.
