I did Megaupload for a while when they were being used a lot (esp. by magiska).

From all the blogs I frequent, there are about 6-8 different d/l services I see split among them....Seems crazy to commit $$ to one of them, when most of the time, it'll be one of the others that the stuff I want is hosted on....I also don't d/l frequent enough to worry about waiting the hour or two them make you to download multiple items....if that makes any sense...

signed up for Rapidshare a few times to score a bunch of discogs.

It does make sense and summarizes the way I mostly feel on the subject.

What Dov said plus who needs an incentive to dl more? I already have too much crap on my computer that I'll probably never listen to.

hell no. if i had that kind of money to burn i'd spend it on music the legal way.

When that huge Dead repository site/blog was up, I paid a month of RS just so I didn't have to wait so long and so I could dl 2+ at a time. Since that site got banished, I don't.

If for some reason I cannot wait to d/l two things via the same service, I either try and find one of the other services who have it hosted, or a torrent...

I added 4 albums yesterday. The only that stuck was Okkervil River (Bloor has accused me of being a fanboy. It may be true) and then I listened to Stage Names and the one before that, neglecting some jail shit Rads pushed my way.

No no, paying a site like that seems weird to me.The only one whose free access is annoying enough to make me almost consider it would be rapidshare... but the rest of them I can usually work with without too much hassle. I forget if it is mediafire or megaupload--but whichever it is will basically let me download as much as I want with a minimal wait and no parallels. And that's fine. It's once you start the rapidshare level of having to wait 15, 20 minutes before being able to try downloading a file that I get irked at.

i paid for rapidshare for awhile, but I am really trying to limit my downloading. end up with a bunch of shit i never listen to. probably download around 5 or so albums per month these days.

I am morally opposed to paying to steal music.
