Similar to the thread we have for new and current albums, I thought it was time to have one for all albums. It's been a while since we created our Listmania TOP 100 and I, for one, know that my list would look much differently today or going forward, being that this is a rolling thread.

In any case, beginning today, every album I listen to that was released prior to 2011 will be eligible to make my Listmania. I will continue to update it until I've compiled a list that I'm comfortable calling my TOP 100 favorite albums of all-time.

I'm hoping some of you will join me. It's more fun when you can see other people's list develop.

Other than the random day to day differences in how I'd rank things, I don't think mine would have changed all that much since we last did this not quite 3 years ago.

Has it only been 3 years? It feels longer than that.

In any case, there are quite a few older albums that I had never listened to or had not given proper listens to at the time I was creating my last list.

Looks like it was August 2008:

http://www.obner.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=39779

I looked over my list before I posted that and the only obvious things I'd add would be John Lennon - Imagine and this Daniel Romano album I'm currently obsessed with and I'd probably feel embarrassed in a few years at how high I'd put the Romano today.

More power to you if your tastes have changed or you've spent more time listening to classics but I don't think I've changed that much in the past 3 years.

Defending the albums that stick with you over the years can be as interesting as examining why some albums wither and fade. Plus obner can never have too many listmania-like orgies.

I'm not really sure how this thread is supposed to work, though.

I guess we just post a list in here, right?

Mine honestly hasn't changed a whole lot, either. A few additions, a lot of shuffling, some cases of picking a different album by the same artist. I recently did an update on RYM, and I already feel like I could tweak it a little. I could post that in here later when I have a little more time. Why not.

I think that mine has shuffled around a bit since the last time, and has a couple of changes in content, too as I've made some discoveries (and immersed my self more deeply in other artists) the last couple of years.
Might be fun if others' have changed too.

Only real change in my top 5 would be...

Our Lady Peace || Spiritual Machines replaces OK Computer as my #2.

rest of my list wouldnt really vary too much.

This might be the single greatest post ever made on Obner. Seriously. I wish I'd had the foresight and genius to think of it.

yawn. your act is so tired and embarrassing by this point, that it is now clearly obvious why your g/f hasn't posted on here in nearly a year.

Hi. New to the board?

I'm done with this back and forth. I'm too old for the silly push and shove with internet tough guys.. obviously the 50 year old isnt.

yes, I am still burnt out on OKC and could see it dropping further down my all time list as the years go by. Spiritual Machines still touches me on a personal and *cliche* spiritual level....and may wind up being a part of my left arm sleeve.

Oh for fucksakes. "Internet tough guys"? It's a message board where opinions are posted. How does posting an opinion make someone an "internet tough guy"?

As for the other remarks, I'm letting them slide. I seriously doubt you, of all people, want to let things get personal.

You can use this thread however you please. Personally, I plan to go back and listen to my albums (luckily, I have them all nice and organized on my mp3 player or computer) and will begin to create my list one album at a time. It will probably start with one or two albums and I will add to it regularly (most likely, a few times per week).

Nice.
I think that this is a way to keep this thread interesting. It'll be fun to check back and see how folks' lists change and morph over time.

Yeah - I love it, and YB always pulls it out on some funny shit.

As for my old list - I put together like a dumbie, it's not that good, but I sorta stand by it.

I can barely remember the combination of the bathroom in my office, or what my middle name is, much less music I like.
