yeah, this one is going to take some time. but i agree with contradiction, i like this one a lot more than i liked EU upon first listen. and i grew to like that one just fine given time.

i think it's obvious at this point that you've got to suspend any expectations of this band moving forward. they are not going to put out It Still Moves II. i'm ok with it, and i'm looking forward to getting to know these songs and - most of all - seeing how they mix these into their live show. lot's of room for extended weirdness in their set...should be good.

Title track raised my expectations a little too much, but I like it.

I'm not so concerned with them writing "it still moves II" I just want it to be good...this is not...its either boring or dumbed down.

Same for me---but after 2 or 3 listens I do not like this very much.

So it leaked, eh? I pre-ordered it a few weeks ago but I'm gonna be hard pressed not to have a taste of this based on these negative reviews.

Bloor what's your take on it?

I only heard like the first three and the last couple songs...I was sorta tuned out working in the middle.

I haven't listened to either of the leaked tracks before now so I had no idea what to expect with regards to the sound...I dunno, what I heard was a little tough on the ears in places, but I'm going to reserve judgement until I listen in headphones and/or in the car tomorrow.

BlooRank: Inconclusive.

It's OK - but not as immediate as the last few records.

Kinda slow-ish. Which makes me inclined to hate it, but I like it ok. Still inconclusive ala YB.

Will give it several more listens, especially on the pot and can't wait to see them play these songs live, either on the webcast or at Bonnaroo

Good lord does the ending of that song suck. I don't know this band as well as some of you...certainly didn't love the first listen. Holding On To Black Metal seems to be the standout.

You know, it's weird. I think a band has to ride a fine line of putting out too much stuff ala Ryan Adams or someone and waiting too long between release. Because if Evil Urges came out last year, this would seem fine, if a bit slower and less in your face. But with a 3 year wait, it's easy to see why people are underwhelmed. Like, if The Stroke's Angles

I feel like there are good songs on this, many of which will became live staples, but there's certainly something missing.

Also, does anyone else feel like a lot of it sounds like stuff you've heard before? Obviously they ripped of Gook Rock Vol 28 or whatever for that one song, but I swear Circuital steals from Jessica by the Allmans (that is played to great effect in that Publix commercial that airs in the summers.

And now I have to post this - just because of what the fuck Dickie is wearing:

Lots of other little stuff I can't quite name.

this album would be fine, if they just brought TEH RAWK on 2-3 songs

it's way too relentlessly mellow

I'm not that big a fan of It Still Moves. I'm still waiting on At Dawn II.

My two favorite MMJ albums are At Dawn and Z. This is...different than that.

I still haven't given it a straight listen (seriously, why am I so fucking busy?) all the way through.
