One of the girls had extremely minor surgery this morning. It was the single most gutwrenching hour of my life. Literally, nothing really scares me personally. But I was so frightened by her post-op crying that I had to leave the room because I couldn't take hearing those wimpers. It's a game changer.

Oh yes, I remember those days well.
It gets weirder, in that it gets less weird.
And then you get to the point where you cannot imagine your life without her.

We had the heel prick test yesterday. They sent us down the street to the hospital lab to get the pre-screening, blood type, and jaundice levels checked. They had to fill 4 little ampules of blood, so they had to prick both feet. Jeeesus that was awful to watch. Crying so hard she was whimpering. I cannot imagine surgery, Tanner. Good god. The pediatrician told us we might have to go back and do it again if she didn't get enough milk in her today, so by god we fed her every 2 and a half hours dammit. Big recovery today, got checked out and she looks great, gained 100 grams in 24 hours (20 would've been pretty good), so we're relieved.

Just wanted to say I was completely wrong about this. Holy shit this is funny as hell. I've listened to it like 4 times.

The placenta is a crazy amazing thing. I've learned a lot since my fiance is a midwife. They sometimes stick little pieces of it in the woman's mouth just after birth because it will almost instantaneously stop a post-partum hemorrhage.

I am pretty sure that when I have a kid, the placenta is just gonna go into the compost pile. Well, after the smoothie anyway.

I think it's funny that there are some dudes that will like a chicks asshole but are entirely grossed out to eat some fried placenta. Hypocrites. haha
