I hate 99% of all baseball announcers. They feel the need to talk the entire time, and fill in all the dead air. So usually just ramble stupid shit like Chip Carery talking about who picked up the tab last night for dinner with Steve Stone. Kill yourself.

I'm worried about Richie Sexson's shoulder injury.

I'm not sure him and Beltre will be good fits with the M's. It's too tough to hit homers in Seattle. Add the cold weather at the start of the season....geeesh.

oh wait a minute.

Yes! Through 4 innings, they are a combined 3 for 4 with 2 HRs and 5 RBI. Nice work Bavasi.

i hope they're (the M's) spurred on by every expert seemingly picking them to finish last in their division.

A's lose. Great day so far.

Yeah--if their pitching can come through, they may have a decent year. Piniero needs to be healthy, Meche and Madritsch need to fulfill potential, Moyer just keeps chugging along, and a #5 starter emerges (maybe the teenage phenom, Hernandez?). I'm not asking too much, am I?

What a great opening day, MLB Extra Innings is on freeview for this week. I have purchased Extra Innings the last two years and it’s money very well spent.

Caught most of that Reds/Mets game and you could feel that Pedro would lose that game after all those K’s. That kind of made my day and I have nothing against the Mets.

Colorado should not have a baseball franchise. No offence to people who live there but the ball just flies out of the park. That is not real baseball where the final score is 10 to 11 with homerun after homerun. Interview afterwards saying how does it feel to have your first big league hit be a homerun? Congratulations on making the big leagues but that would of not been a home run in any other ballpark in America.

Tomorrow is the big day when my team finally opens its season. I’m so sick of basketball, even if the NCAA’s have been insane this year, that today was a welcome change.

I love Jon Miller, might be the best in the game, and that was classic stuff.

Adam Dunn is primed to have a ridiculous season, I seriously believe he can make a run at 50 home runs. And unless he's been doping since well before the minors, it'll be legit. Of course he'll probably strike out 200 times in the process, but hell, you gotta crack some eggs.

And Griffey got through a whole game! Things are looking up...

I hope they get rid of Griffey soon, I would rather have Wily Mo Pena out there.

Wow. Way to go out on a limb there. A guy who hit 46 homers last year might make a run at 50 this year.

I've got a crazy prediction as well. I think the Yankees might make a run at the playoffs this year. I just have gut feeling about this.

Because that statement had all the makings of a crazy prediction, right? Because I shouldn't be excited about a player and make an offhanded comment, huh? No need to act like a jerk one day into the season.

Giants beat the hated Dodgers on their way to the NL West crown.

If not for a Gagne injury (and the pitiful decision to have Jose Valentin as a third baseman - 1 E down, at least 40 more to go), that game could've been all Dodgers, baby...

We'll get you tomorrow, when JD Drew faces....a lefty...(cue dramatic music)..

No because it was so damn safe.

No reason not to be excited about the game and his performance.

Sorry to damage your fragile ego by mocking your cheesy 50 home run prediction about a 45+ homerun hitter.

Dunn did hit 46 last year. He also led the league in strikeouts, and was notorious for his inconsistency in making contact in years before. How many guys have you seen in recent years make a run at 50 only to hit 20 the next season? Does Brady Anderson ring a bell? Maybe it was cheesy, Dunn will be on the DL soon enough, I'm sure, along with Griffey, Kearns, Pena, etc..

At least he has a mustache. Jose Valentin is easily the worst defensive player in the league though.
