<cuando te vi bajar la escalera, fue amor a primera vista>

Life once again gets in the way of a solid burger review schedule, but you know what they say...when life gives you rice, cinnamon and fifteen cups of dirty table sugar, make horchata.

The Isabella was another meatsemble whose whole was greater than the sum of its parts. I've never been a huge fan of spicy south-of-the-border/north-of-the-Scoville-scale piquancy, but I got all the ingredients really right this time and, like the Firehouse, this thing just worked.

Dear little buttercup, sweet little buttercup, my little buttercup, I love you!!1

These were tangy/spicy cheesepuff-pork rind hybrid snacks that were probably deep-fried in lard by an 80-yr-old senora in a trailer in the Sonoran Desert. An impulse point-of-sale buy at the meh-HEEK-in grocer. Fry old one, fry like the wind…

I was able to do some Spanish and ask the cashier where the beer was. I said… pay attention … “Cerveza?”
Image

Poco-toots wanted me to show everyone this cool Lego lowrider he made.

Found these Mexican rolls at the local Hispanic grocer. No big hassle here, but well worth the added errand.

After writing all this, I’m suddenly wondering what a glob of sour cream would taste like under the bun. Holy frijoles!

Nice run.
Pun intended.

Also, I just posted about a new burger place here:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=47521

Just the Chicago area, for now. But I'm sure they will be expanding.
