The wife wanted to see Rufus Wainwright at the Ravina festival, Sunday, August 14th, and decided to make a weekend out of it. See said that because she chose Rufus, I got to chose the rest of the weekend. I don't want to do Shedd, or the Museum of Science & Industry, or the Art Museum again if I can find more interesting things to do. And evening entertainment looks a little sparse, probably because it is the weekend after Lollapalooza. What do you locals think? What funky, off-beat, interesting day and evening opportunities do you suggest I and my lovely bride sample?

Has anyone been to the Kiss Kiss Cabaret before? Thoughts on it? Any local shows I need to know about? Help...

i recently visited the uchicago's oriental institute. i thought it was fascinating with a lot of the pre-pyramid egyptian stuff. chicago history museum is another gem to kill a day.

as for shows, the 12th is pretty packed. digitalism, the liminanas, bobby conn & plastic crimewave sound, dntel, white mystery and geoff farina are playing separate shows that night.

Neo-Futurists?
And, if you can, try to have dinner at The Florentine, where my friend Todd is the chef. It's not cheap, but it is real good.
Also, give me a call and let's try to meet up sometime, somewhere.
