Twitter is becoming quite the rumor mill. Its interesting how many dead ends have occurred so far this pre-season due to someone posting up something and then it being reported as fact.

Lastest: Darnell Dockett. Someone posted on twitter that he was going to be traded to the Ravens. Being an odd move, of course the entire football universe picked up on it and retweeted the heck out of it. Dockett this morning put the kibosh on it himself, saying he called his coach and got confirmation he wasn't moving.

Yup, quality journalism is pretty much over with these days.

I'm shocked Jerry Jones didn't give Tavaris guaranteed money. I wouldn't let him watch my dog.

And Vince Young is going to kill himself in Philly. Literally - I don't think he can handle the media speculation on his (blatantly homo)sexuality. Not that I care, but those kooks certainly do.

If Vince is gay, maybe he can come out...IN PHILLY. They did accept a dog fighter after all. Might be a teachable moment (or more likely a long series of hilarious ones) in there somewhere

Sad to see Harvey Dahl leave the Falcons. Always cool to have the dirtiest player in the league on YOUR team.

NFL teams are swapping people on the same pace as MLB! One of the reasons that I liked football was that players were with teams for long periods of time and the contracts are not guaranteed which gives the players more incentive. It also allows Owners to get more bang for their buck by signing good players to long contracts during their prime with less risk and for less money than if they had to renegotiate every year. It seems like almost every baseball player (granted their careers are longer) has played for 5+ teams. I pledge allegiance to the $$$ of America.

I think it just seems like more swapping because it's happening all at once

Holy shit. The Eagles get Asomugha. I can't believe this actually happened. I guess the rumor is that Asante Samuel will be traded (possibly to the Jets or Cardinals), but I would love to see them play together. Asante could have a ridiculous number of INTs playing opposite Nnamdi. Either way, seems like the Iggles are all in this year.

Last week I was thinking, I don't think I'm going to get emotionally invested in football this year. But now I'm excited about the Eagles getting my hopes up again before crushing my soul. Give me hell Andy.

This will be the year Vick tears an ACL and we get to watch Vince Young try to deal with the Philly crowd and a new offense.

There's a difference between being a hothead and a malcontent.

Considering the guy we drafted to be the future DE for years (Jamaal Anderson) had 4.5 sacks in 4 YEARS and Edwards has had 16.5 in the last TWO, I'll take the hothead.

The silver lining of the Jamaal Anderson debacle was that it probably helped seal the fate of former GM Rich McKay and ultimately got us current GM Thomas Dimitroff who at this point, seems to be the real deal.

I saw that. "I'ma play when I wanna play" is not the best way to get yourself signed as an aging, single-threat receiver.

I disagree, I think he would've still been a deep threat and still possibly doubled. I was actually hoping the Ravens would float a 1-yr deal his way (which, they may have).

As for the Eagles--I'm still not sold on them automatically winning the NFC. A lot hinges on Vick being potent.

Ravens picked up Vonta Leach. Not gonna lie, hoping he can do for Ray Rice what he did for Arian Foster. Our running game definitely got better.

What it hinges on is Vick being healthy. He's plenty potent. I am not excited about the possibility of Vince Young or the existential quarterback Mike Kafka leading this offense.

But it's going to be an exciting year for the Eagles. If it makes you all feel any better, all of the Eagles safeties and LB's are either low round draft picks or people with few remaining knee ligaments. Clearly, their defensive MO is attack the quarterback up front and cover deep. The Wes Welker types or even a good TE like Witten might be able to have some success against them, if the QB gets any time.

Did he specifically say "from the NFL"?

Because he could go join Denny Green and Duante Culpepper in the XFL or whatever it's called.

I'll be interested to see how well they play the run.

Also, how well opposing D's do against Vick now that they have a season of tape on him.
