Fang: Landshark/Where the Wild Things Are

This reissue collects pretty much everything anyone cares about from Fang, the first two albums, the stuff from Rat Music for Rat People and a couple early songs off compilations. Sludgy, grungy hardcore With inane lyrics, Skinheads Smoke Dope, Destroy the Handicapped, etc... Band eventually broke up after the lead singer was arrested and did 6 years for manslaughter after strangling his girlfriend (how that's just manslaughter I'm not exactly sure, some bullshit about being too high to know what he was doing I believe). The Money Will Roll Right In was covered a couple times, lifting this otherwise historical footnote a bit out of obscurity. It's an pretty great song though so that's a good thing.

I need to revisit this. They definitely did some good stuff, including "Send Me To Hell C.O.D" which has always brought a smile to my face.

SO YOUNG BUT SO COLD: UNDERGROUND FRENCH MUSIC 1977-1983

Excellent collection of early French post punk and new wave music. Drum machines and synths abound. Cold electro ranges from minimal and dancey to more ornate analog synth manipulation. Well worth a listen and all new stuff to me.
