Really no idea. It might be one of the Led Zeppelin albums, either III, IV, or Physical Graffiti.

It might even be something like Nirvana Unplugged or Stone Temple Pilots - Core or Purple. Things definitely got a lot more spins when I only owned a handful of albums.

Likely Devo - Freedom of Choice

Followed closely by:

Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's
Violent Femmes - s/t
Kinks - Lola...

Probably either the first Clash album, or London Calling..maybe Minutemen's Double Nickels, Husker Du's New Day Rising or Tom Waits: Swirdfishtrombones. Aphex: Selected Ambient and Boards of Canada's Music has the Right and Massive Attack's Blue Lines and Protection would all be big players, maybe White Stripes De Stijl; but none of those have as many years in.

is this album's we've played the most ourselves or heard the most?

If the latter, probably Born to Run
if the former, either Slanted or Enchanted, Let It Bleed, or Enter the 36 Chambers

Me, too. I think it's pretty easy for us to draw a parallel between this and, as Drinky said, we listened to everything more when we had less. The internet music glut has taken us all down slightly divergent paths now.

Back in the olden days of Walkman and cassette, I'd often have the same cassette in my Walkman for literally months and months and listen to it every day getting up to all sorts of things bar actually going to school.

I was into the American punk of the era (mid to late eighties) so it could well be Dead Kennedy's 'Bedtime for Democracy' or Black Flag's 'Damaged' or something of that ilk.

I remember an Orange Juice compilation having a long run as well ('The Esteemed Orange Juice') and a bit later Morrissey's 'Beethoven Was Deaf' live album.

If I'm being completely honest, its probably Thriller. Have had it in multiple formats, and pressings and to this day still listen to it.

Probably The Amps-Pacer.

Then probably GBV-Alien Lanes or Yes-Fragile.

So many variables to this. Namely that I keep changing listening formats and such. Maybe Rancid Let's Go, but that's probably because I had music playing round the clock in high school.

I'd probably go for Thousand Yard Stare Mappamundi. Closely followed by Soup Dragons, some Depeche Mode (Black Celebration) and Electronic.

Those were the days.

Looking at this I realize that since I started listening to music mostly on my computer or my ipod I don't really listen to albums anymore. I mostly put my music on shuffle, or skip around different songs on different albums. I like listening to music like this, but I kind of miss having just one c.d in my disc man or my car and listening to it over and over again.

Yeah, I'd say nothing in the internet age of music has gotten close to the same kind of repeat listening.

Maybe it's a generational thing, or just my stubbornness/anal retentiveness, but I can not relate to this at all.

same here. i like to listen to full albums almost 99% of the time. i've only recently starting shuffling my Spotify 'starred playlist'.

I'll disagree here...

When I was limited to a walkman or discman, it would be a pain in the ass to do anything but listen to a full album at a time...

Once the ipod came into my life, and I had access to 10,000 or some odd songs at any given time, i like playing what strikes my mood at any given second.....Sure i play full albums when i just get them, but after a while, i go back to the random/shuffle option...most likely it is my ADD

The iPod can have that effect. When you've got 20,000 songs to pick from, listening to 10-15 in a row by the same group in sequence is sometimes hard to muster. I've actually started leaving my iPod behind these days because I was getting sick of skipping around musically. I have uploaded the whole batch to the Amazon cloud so I can stream what I want when I like if necessary when I just HAVE to hear somethng specific, but I've taken to ripping vinyl to CDs for the car...one single track vinyl rips, start to finish, no skipping allowed. I've been enjoying it greatly. Right now, I've got Throbbing Gristle: 20 Jazz Funk Greats, the Posh Hits Volume 1 compilation, and Kraftwerk's Radio Activity in the car and I've been playing them over and over for the last 2 weeks and enjoying that just fine, thank you very much. Ripped Joe Williams: A Man's not Supposed to Cry and Bowie's Ziggy Stardust to the computer and will be adding them to the rotation as soon as I put 'em on disc...or maybe I'll just switch out for them. But yeah, forcing myself to slow down and listen less and listen to complete albums brings music back to a place I actually enjoy more than the massive dump of endless selections fighting for my attention.

that or even singling out an artist over a couple albums, occasionally I will make a playlist/cd with an artist's 2 albums alternating sequence of songs one album after the other, sometimes this melds well sometimes not but its interesting for comparing progress between the 2 albums
