Wow, that looks like an old shoe box I kept by my stereo on the shelf above my desk years ago[+/- a few cassettes].

Top of the top listens, by number of plays, though -- prolly Pedro & AC/DC.

You studied that a little more closely than I did.

Looking at this I realize that since I started listening to music mostly on my computer or my ipod I don't really listen to albums anymore. I mostly put my music on shuffle, or skip around different songs on different albums.

Maybe it's a generational thing, or just my stubbornness/anal retentiveness, but I can not relate to this at all.

same here. i like to listen to full albums almost 99% of the time. i've only recently starting shuffling my Spotify 'starred playlist'.

I'll disagree here...

When I was limited to a walkman or discman, it would be a pain in the ass to do anything but listen to a full album at a time...

Once the ipod came into my life, and I had access to 10,000 or some odd songs at any given time, i like playing what strikes my mood at any given second.....Sure i play full albums when i just get them, but after a while, i go back to the random/shuffle option...most likely it is my ADD

I think also it might be because I have less time now that I'm working full time and taking classes after work. Before I had time to lay in bed and completely focus on an album, while I still listen to the same amount of music the quality is lesser. Also in Korea I don't have a car, so I have to ride buses and subways which are crowded and noisy so I can't focus on the music the same. Usually I choose to just listen to shuffle, or a genius mix or whatever. At home I end up listening to music in the back ground while cleaning or cooking or whatever more, and having less time to just be focused on the music. That being said by being able to have all my music in one place has had a major change on my listening habits, but I'm making an effort to try and listen to the stuff I've been downloading in sequence and in one sitting more.

Unfortunately it's probably Led Zeppelin 4
Could also be Ziggy Stardust or Blood on the Tracks.

After some thought I can safely append to my list the following candidates:

R.E.M. - Murmur
Modest Mouse - The moon and Antarctica
Low - Things we lost in the fire
Beatles - Abbey Road
Beulah - Yoko
Dave Brubreck Quartet - Time out

It'll be a tie between Paul's Boutique and Mister Bungle (s/t).

Probably Sonic Youth-Goo. My brother gave me the tape when I was ten or eleven and it was that and I think a Depeche Mode and Midnight Oil cassette single (also hand me downs from my brother) made up my entire collection at the time. It's an album that I don't think I have ever stopped listening to.

Though according to iTunes, at least the past five years that I have had this computer, I have listened to Unwound-Leaves Turn Inside You more than anything during that time.

Without a doubt: AC/DC's "Back in Black"

Got it on tape probably 3 years after it's release and it's been in the rotation off and on ever since. Even during my HEAVY jam band years.

Gotta go with Matthew Sweet -- Girlfriend

It's the one CD that my wife loved instantly when I introduced it to her. So I can't go wrong when I play it now. As opposed to last week's reaction to the Hold Steady: "Does every song suck this bad?"

Chicks just don't get The Hold Steady, for some reason.

I bought these albums in the order specified below, and I remember spending a disporportionate amount of time playing them compared to everything else.

The Cure - Disintegration
Enigma - The Screen Behind the Mirror
Missy Elliott - So Addictive
New Radicals - Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too
Burial - Untrue
The-Dream - Love vs. Money
