That sucks. I really liked that last EP they put out.

Any idea if Ponytail are really still a band? It seemed to surprise everyone that they put out another record, and they haven't toured since its release, as far as I know.

Wasn't trying to get into a pissing match, btw. Just was wondering. Had never heard about Denver having any "trouble" parts, or being overly run by crime, etc. Interesting.

oh i know man...didn't think you were. i think 15+ years here has made me soft in regards to what i consider "sketchy". there is little to no diversity in the boulder area. and Denver has to be the safest, cleanest (and most boring) "large" metro area i've been to, other than SLC maybe.

Its kinda interesting because I've been living out in Western MD now for 10 years, and I'm still not used to the fact that people get freaked out about going "downtown". I walk, ride my bike, etc all over here and have never had a problem. Also, its a never-ending source of entertainment for my wife and I to watch the elderly couples running (or probably more appropriately, trotting) down the street after they go to the theatre here to see the MSO. Like some thug from West Side Story is gonna jump out and get them. :nono:

I really liked the last EP as well. Seemed like they were just gaining some steam on a national level. As for Ponytail...I dunno. I hear stuff from friends, but nothing substantiated. They still check/log in to their myspace acct--or someone does, because it was last logged into 8/25. There's this also: http://chocolatelabinegypt.blogspot.com/, so who knows.

Yeah. But it seems like most new single LPs that I see in record stores are running $15-22, and that's up a good bit from what it was 5-6 years ago. I remember that new SubPop albums, in particular, were pretty cheap on vinyl. Now nothing is.

Fewer people buying vinyl means fixed costs spread over fewer people? Except can the demand have fallen that much over the last few years?

Per National Enquirer, Joe Mc Ginness's Sarah Palin book will reveal that 23 years old Sarah Palin had a one-niter with then-Michigan Wolverine basketball player Glen Rice. (He was in Anchorage for the Great Alaska Shootout, at that time.)

Which means, as was said in Wonkette comments, Sarah Palin is so good at quitting she can go black, & then go back.

Where's the Nailin Palin sequel starring Lex Steele?

Several people on the board don't understand the differences between reading, reading comprehension, and retention.

I want to know what Sir Charles has to say about this.

& on my end, knowing of S. Heath's fetish for black guys, I can understand better why one of my black sixth grade classmates in South Carolina was upset when his parents uprooted him from Alaska. Nick B------ had his head in the gov... I mean, game... Prolly.

Reports yesterday of 2 women trying to lure kids in my neighborhood into their van with promises of candy.
Normally I let my kid ride or walk home from school by himself, but today I think that I'll go pick him up.
Goddamn disturbing.

Not buying it. I would believe, though, that Dave Pirner & the black drummer from Soul Asylum tag-teamed One L Michele.

I thought vinyl sales were going up in recent years? To me it feels more like increased demand = increased prices.

And I suppose that $15-20 for new, single LPs isn't unfair, but it's unfortunate. It's means I won't be buying very many of them.

Porn company builds porn bunker to ride out forecasted apocalypse

Image

Quote:

“Debbie Does End of Days”?

San Fernando Valley porn purveyors Pink Visual may be the only adult film company equipped to release such a title, as they are planning on “riding out the 2012 apocalypse in style” by building an “enormous underground bunker” in anticipation of the December 21, 2012 apocalypse.

“Our goal is nothing less than to survive the apocalypse to come in comfort and luxury,” Pink Visual spokesman Quentin Boyer told CBS’ Los Angeles affiliate. “Whether that catastrophe takes the form of fireballs flung earthward by an all-seeing deity, extended torrential rainfall, Biblical rapture, an earthquake-driven mega-tsunami, radioactive flesh-eating zombies, or some combination of the above.”

Boyer told the LA Weekly that the X-rated bunker will be filled with “multiple fully-stocked bars, an enormous performing stage, and a sophisticated content production studio.”

With nothing to lose on that fateful night, Boyer suggests that those invited to the bunker may participate in an end of the world orgy. “Inevitably, I suppose, that will happen,” he muses. “It’s hard to say how people would respond to an actual apocalypse.”

Pink Visual’s guest list will be limited 1,500 VIPs said Boyer, adding that “Pink Visual performers, active site members and Twitter followers (will get) priority over the general public.”

Good thing they have over a year to plan for the event, as Boyer admits that they’re “still working on oxygen, that kind of thing.”

The exact location of the bunker has not been released due to “security concerns.”

And hey–there are worse places than Van Nuys to spend your last hours on earth. “If nothing else, it’ll be a fantastic one-night party, after which we’ll emerge from underground, red-faced, to go home, and the company will be left behind with the coolest bunker known to man,” Boyer said.

So, is Ian McKaye's last name pronounced "McHigh"?

I only knew that from seeing Rollins at a spoken-word "concert" at my college in '93.
