Bob have you seen this Grantland article about the Cowboys Redskins rivalry being the best in the NFL - still?

Gotta say I agree.

Yeah, I read that about an hour ago - good stuff. As soon as both teams are good at the same time again, that rivalry will return to the national stage. Right now, it's really more a nostalgic thing. It's the USC-Notre Dame of the NFL.

For my money this will forever be a two way tie between Dan McGwire and Babe Laufenberg.

Ive seen the Falcons throw out the likes of Kurt Kittner and Danny Kanell.

Yeah but you gotta remember there was at least reason to believe these guys might not be the worst QB ever to play.

Shouldn't they have known about Babe Laufenberg by his name alone?

And, mutty, they explain Cowboys v Redskins is bigger than regional rivalries.

Oh yeah - does Romo have the weirdest release in the NFL? It's almost like his arms are too short or something.

Yes. It's the alligator arms delivery.

The only "biggest" thing about the Bears/Packers rivalry is the average girth of the fanbase.

Went to the Panthers-Jags game on Sunday, and even before storm and flash flooding, it was a bit ugly for Cam and the team. This was more of the QB I expected to see out of the gates, as opposed to the 400+ yds passing dynamo he was in weeks 1 and 2. He under or overthrew receivers on at least 4-5 occasions and mainly completed passes to his TE's. He did make some nice plays with his feet, as is to be expected. Obviously, the main thing is that the team got its first W. I suspect Cam is somewhere inbetween the 400 yd passing average qb and the qb I saw on Sunday. In either case, good to get the W and get off the schneid.

Meh. I get that there is some historical significance to this rivalry but there are college freshman who were 2 years old the last time either team was in a Super Bowl. Most of the people they talk to in that article are old timers engaging in "remember when".

Because they're fucking due, Bob.

Notice I didn't say "we" - I got off that train when I moved out of state prior to the end of the Millen Regime/Reign of Terror. It'd be wrong to hop back on now.

NFC Nawf, y'all.

Dude, much respect to your (I did say it) Lions. They are beyond due.

I haven't heard from Elias Sports Bureau or the like on this yet, but this HAS to be the first time in NFL history that a team has rallied from 20+ points down in consecutive weeks to win, right? I mean, INSANE!!!

Trying desperately to resist the urge to bag on the guy. He made a couple of absolutely ridiculous mistakes. But, they'd never have been up 27-3 if not for his outstanding first half. This is just what you get with Romo.

The yokels calling sports talk shows after the game were pretty much unilaterally demanding that Jerry Jones use his first round pick on a QB next year (almost all begging for RG3 from Baylor). 90% of Cowboys fans (I'm among the other 10%) have completely given up on Romo after today.

As an Eagles fan, I would like to propose that we change the rules so that the team with the most yards wins. Screw this points shit. Yards is where it's at. We can run up yardage with the best of them.

How about the Niners? They're going HAM on the Bucs and will presumably be 4-1. Is Harbaugh really this good of a coach?
