I was listening to the radio the other night and I found myself thinking "Why am I listening to music I don't like as much as the stuff I own" and of course the answer is fairly obvious. When you listen to the radio, you don't know what is going to come next and that 'oh, I wonder what's after this' element keeps you listening.
With this in mind, as well as the fact that I can't be bothered doing 18 track mixes anymore, I decided to make a 10 minute 'Mystery Mix'. Of course I know what is on it but you don't and there be the mystery. Since I have wide ranging tastes it could literally be anything. When I selected the songs I restricted myself to choosing from the last I listened to on my Ipod - this give it a bit more of a random feel rather than if I'd hand picked them. You'll probably know some of that tracks, might not know others.
Everyone is pretty jaded these days and I don't expect many to actually listen to this but for those that do I've cut in various pieces of the greatest DJ rant in the history of radio broadcasting. I've heard it many times but it never fails to both impress as well as get a genuine laugh out loud - the bit at the very end of the mix in particular.
