very lucky to have seen him open for neil a couple times on the last tour. surprised by this news as i didn't know he was ill when I saw him as recently as may '11.

Admittedly when I saw him I was familiar only in name, as I've never dug into British folk in my musical education, but I thoroughly enjoyed his set.

truly! he sounded amazing even in may! this is kind of out of left field to me. thanks to neil, in the last couple years i have had the chance to delve into his music, and i love it.

Yeah I've only got a few Pentangle albums and Jansch's self-titled solo album from 1965, and I really dig the s/t especially.

FYI, Neil lifted the chords and melody of "Ambulance Blues" from Jansch's "Needle of Death" from the above mentioned s/t. I like "Ambulance Blues" more, but "Needle of Death" is a really cool song, too.
