Gave my notice at the newspaper today. Found a non-journalism job to replace that income @ 25 percent fewer hours, and going to focus heavily on freelance writing and editing.

Met him at his book signing here last week (after interviewing him for a story this summer) and he said my pitch was good and that he'd forwarded it to Grantland's more day to day editors, but I shouldn't take it bad if I didn't hear from them.
