That's awesome man - do your damn thing. I know you've been trying to get out of that day to day grind for a while. (I think we first talked about it in like 2006?) And on an unrelated note - C&E's big spring deal, and The Pollie awards are in Austin in March. So get ready for a GAR invasion.

I was OK with the day grind, but I think in my head I had created the idea that the music job at the paper in Austin, TX was like "the perfect girl" that was all I'd ever want in life. Turns out "the perfect girl" is a cutter with loads of credit card debt and a bad C-section scar.

Seeing these three twice this week @ Fun Fun Fun Fest (and an afterparty) and in revisiting their catalog realized it's been five years since the release of this, which holds up as one of my favorite albums of the decade. Time, it flies.

Supposed to bring in "scary" food to work today for Halloween.
Most folks brought in decorated cupcakes and stuff like that.
I brought in chopped liver.

I think that I am probably the only one to genuinely scare folks with my treat.
(I love this stuff!)

Feeling about 65% fatter than I was yesterday thanks to some kind of Halloween "snack mix" that somebody brought in to work today.

It consists of:

peanuts
Cheerios
caramel corn
candy corn
Cheez-Its
Count Chocula
Reese's Pieces

And as bad as that may look on paper (and it did look kind of scary in person), it tasted pretty wonderful. I feel pretty gross now, though.

We've got a giant bowl of trick or treat candy at the house and I can't pass by it without grabbing one.

Meh. Summer's over. Time to fatten up for Winter!

400 or so? I've only seen it packed once and that was more than 3 years ago, so I can't say with any certainty.
You're going to be here for FFF Fest? PM me your info and let's hang. I'll be at the fest all 3 days and doing some of the aftershows too.

Jealous you get to go to FFF. That's one of the things that really blows about leaving Austin. Live music scene up here is pretty shitty.
