These lists of 3 that y'all really like are way more useful to me than 12 different lists of 50 albums each to guarantee I end up with a list of 5,000 albums I could never hope to sort through. So ya know, thanks for paring it down even if you know, like I do, that your 3 would change from day to day and all.

Perched at #4, but unlikely to debunk War On Drugs, Fucked Up, or Gang Gang Dance (maybe so), is Sandro Perri's "Impossible Spaces". Love the patience of this record. Listening daily. Good stuff coming out of Constellation this year!

Yeah, I've been liking it a lot lately too. Have DBT's released as good an album as this since Isbell left? Off the top of my head, the answer is probably no.

Garland Jeffreys - The King of In Between has probably snuck into my top 3 and bumped the Booze down to 4.

Finally listened to Real Estate - Days a couple of days ago and it has bumped Parallax from my top 3. Great fall album.

Thanks for this. I hadn't thought of him in.... well, decades? I checked this out and it's superb. The "Coney Island" song may be my favorite track of the year... although "Rock On" as a closer almost ruins the whole thing for me.

You can certainly be forgiven for not having thought of him recently. This is his first album in 14 years.

Agreed that "Coney Island" is great and "Rock On" was a bad idea. The latter doesn't come close to ruining the album for me but it's probably the biggest reason that it has "probably snuck into my top three" rather than landed at #2 with a bullet.

I just saw him at the Grammy Museum Tuesday night. He was great and said that he'll be announcing a larger west coast tour soon so be on the lookout for bay area gigs. I think he's going to be playing a couple of shows at McCabe's in LA.

Heard a song of Sandro Perri's this weekend and dug it. Might have to look into that further.
