I'm gone early AM for 4 day trip. Much needed after the last few bitchin' pressure days. 2 houseboats anchored at the mouth of the Little Shark River with satellite boats bouncing around the estuaries to catch'em up before cocktails at Sundowner's Lounge located at the bow.

In the everglades/Flamingo area.

yes a borrowed pic, but

Yeah, the buff. I only used a bandana 2 years ago. I guess someone found a money maker. If its chilly or buggy depending on the environs they are good for staying warm or bugs out of the teeth on runs. Seriously. Should be a warm weekend which means jurassic mosquitoes, and we've got plenty to to take care of that[handle bottles]. It's been 18 years on this trip so we've been through well enough.

I've got a work event in charlottesville tonight (which I would usually blow off, but I desperately need some time away from the kids) and then 4 days in Key West starting Saturday. BIG BABY JESUS I CAN'T WAIT. I hope I can find a bar down there that's showing the super bowl!

Nice. Yeah, I can't wait for the warmer weather to break for at least a good few weeks to get out on the river and hone my fly fishing skills. Normally a bait caster, but getting more into fly. Got some good friends helping me out, and hoping to make at least 2 trips out a week come spring/summer.

Very jealous. Have a great one.

I'm heading down to lovely Dungeness for some cod fishing in a couple of weeks. No problems with the mozzies!

Looks like a good time. Is it really that green in Feb?

The pic also got me thinking that we need a website dedicated to anarchist fishing.

Great article in this month's This Is Fly about how the punk band, Pegboy has an obsession with fly fishing. The mag is digi, so open up the link below and read it.

There were 10 of us. Rented 2 houseboats. Need to reserve way in advance. We had 4 flat fishing boats that friends dropped at Flamingo where the houseboats leave. 2 or more people took the H-boats out to the mouth of the Little Shark river which is about a 3.5 hour run. Once Anchored we just cruised the creeks inside and/or the coastline looking for spots on the flat boats. We've been doing it for 18 years or so so we have some good spots already. It was warm this year but managed to stay mosquito free, which is rare.
