Looking back at my last post, it took approx. 4 months to get everything locked in....

I have been lucky to work with some of the bands that I have put out....From known metal entities like 'Nothingface' to baby bands who created a mini stir in the underground metal scene 'So Hideous, My Love...'

This is probably my favorite release. I am honored to be a part of it...

Coming May 1st, 2012

BIOGRAPHY
U.S. Christmas (USX) is a apocalyptic space-rock | blues-metal ensemble originating from the Appalachian Mountains of Marion, North Carolina. Led by guitarist/vocalist/lyricist Nate Hall, the band; BJ Graves (drums), Justin Whitlow (percussion, experimental sounds), Josh Holt (bass, drones), and Meghan Mulhearn (violin), enter their second decade of blurring the boundaries of heavy music & crushing dark blues.
While the music of USX has never been described as being jammy or amorphous; USX’s brand of dirty & loose psychedelic rock originate from band members bringing their individually created musical parts into a room together and letting the collective synergy between them form a singular groove.
USX’s musical influences range from guitar slingers, modern metal & doom to classic artists that include Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Hawkwind, Caustic Resin, & Neurosis. With a drone-y sound suggesting lyrical themes dealing with outer space, USX’s lyrical content actually focus more towards that of nature, earth, & terrestrial human history.
After a pair of self released CD-R’s (Bad Heart Bull & Prayer Meeting), USX released their third album (Salt the Wound) via Russia’s RAIG Imprint, and then signed with the United States based, Neurot Recordings (home of Neurosis, Shrinebuilder, Across Tundras, etc.) to release the three long players, (Eat the Low Dogs, Run Thick in the Night & The Valley Path).
Play the Assassin will give BAD HEART BULL it's long overdue official release in May 2012.

I never got to see them live....
The main guy, Nate, also has a solo record coming out in May on Neurot, so a tour will be happening in some sense...

My initial plan was to do a run of 250, but it looks like I am gonna sell that many to overseas distro's before i even put out a press release....Mixed with a pre-order for fans and hitting up US distro's, I may bit the bullet and do 750 or 1000..... yikes.

the reviews for US Christmas are starting to come in.....

Quote:
"...a sound that combines classic 70's psych rock, Caustic Resin, Neurosis like dirge, gooey sludge metal, blues & early country music, Hawkwind style space-rock explorations, and the expansive fire rock of late 70's Neil Young & Crazy Horse. Heavy & Amazing stuff..."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - SEPTEMBER 20, 2012

GENERAL LEE signs with PLAY THE ASSASSIN RECORDS

French Post-Hardcore band GENERAL LEE has inked a worldwide deal with NJ based Play The Assassin Records. The band's new album, "Raiders of the Evil Eye" will be released on November 20th, 2012.

Pre-Sales orders begin on September 20th. "Raiders of the Evil Eye' will be presented in a limited edition six-panel digipak. A T-shirt / CD bundle will be available during the pre-sale period.

Since 2002, General Lee never stopped to look forward their own definition of chaos, melting intensity, blackness and emotion in a shape that belongs to abrasive hardcore music. After some recording try-outs they definitely head out with a mammoth disc in the name of Hannibal Ad Portas (2008). This disc plays with feelings and contrasts by creating a tense climate near to the break. Icy and oppressive atmospheres, heavy and melancholic riffing are mixed with abrasive hardcore and cathartic screaming. A music that blurs and destroys the usual plans to be reconstructed in pain. A one of a kind heavy doom. Roads (2010) followed and saw the band mature and expand their sound to bombastic new heights. On Roads, GENERAL LEE sets out to create a tense climate, teetering on the edge of a complete molecular meltdown. At the same time, Roads gives the sense of atmosphere that's dually heavy and melancholic. Monstrous riffs add to the band's abrasive sound. Completing the package are cathartic vocals that signal the coming of the apocalypse. General Lee do a fine job in blurring the lines between the "posts", hardcore & metal.

Raiders of the Evil Eye (2012), the third release from Bethune' Frances metallic sons find the band coming into their own. A sense of maturity in song writing and playing

RAIDERS OF THE EVIL EYE TRACKLISTING:
1. The Witching Hour
2. Medusa Howls With Wolves
3. Alone With Everybody
4. Overwhelming Truth

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MARCH 17, 2013

PLAY THE ASSASSIN RECORDS TO RELEASE 'MRTAV', THE DEBUT ALBUM FROM HESPERIAN DEATH HORSE

On April 30th, 2013, NJ based Play The Assassin Records will be issuing the debut full length from the Croatian based post-death band, HESPERIAN DEATH HORSE.

Mrtav, Croation for the word 'death', is the first of a planned trilogy of releases, recorded in reverse order encompassing the human life cycle. ('Birth' & 'Life' will see the light of day in late 2013 / early 2014). Guitarist Sven Soric explains, "We have an overall theme; it is a span of a lifetime, and this trilogy we have envisioned will cover the complete process in which all humans share. Despite our different languages, cultures, ideals, beliefs, and values, we all birthed into this world, live our lives, then die. It is that simple and thus, we are all equal. We want this music to convey one's internal vision of what happens during the last moments, be it minutes, hours, or days, of our life."

The 4 part / 49 minute Mrtav, is a post sludge cacophony of nihilistic poetry. The album was recorded in the Winter of 2012 at Studio Depth in Pozega, Croatia by the quartet consisting of Dario Orac (guitars & vocals, Domagoj Zunic (bass & vocals), Sven Soric (guitars & vocals), & Ivan Kukuljevic (drums) . Mrtav was produced and mixed by Filip Sertic.

Full Tracklisting
1. Heroitza (Part 1: Kraljevi) 11:09
2. Deces (Part 2: Palez) 7:26
3. Surm (Part 3: Oni to Nisu) 12:54
4. Morte (Part 4: Oltar) 17:13

Mrtav can be streamed in it's entirety at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EqLikdBrck .

Mrtav is available for pre-order at http://store.playtheassassin.com/album/mrtav-pta009. Mrtav will be released in digipak format on April 30th, 2013. It is currently available for immediate digital download in many different audio formats.

"...Narrator of psychedelic, nihilistic poetry of everyday stumbling from death to birth and in-between. Howling thru the shrines, these unholy hounds are just a pattern that lies within theta rhythms. We swallowed our arms. These cosmonauts don’t levitate. We don’t need more ghosts. Slugs are mechanisms. Untying the gordian knot with nothing but pain and suffering. Hide eyelids to gain a parasitic twin....The Hesperian Death Horse rides again......"
